Not like we need him or anything.

Open up room for Troy to return. Welker can handle punting duties for the one time a game we have to. :D

Now that would be giving the league a big middle finger ;)

I don't remember punting against Dallas. Did we punt?

rememeber that time when Brady punted the ball? and in practice he was saying "I'm the best punter on this team" That was great, just let him punt, it would make for some great "fake" punts.

That's not entirely ridiculous. Historical precidents exist. If the gunners break out, throw it instead. I know it's the NFL, but punting isn't rocket science.

Welker can do it anyway. I agree. If it is less than twenty yards, just go for it. Otherwise, Welkie can get it out of there.

Just bring Cassel in to throw a 40-50 yd INT and send a S-load of gunners down to contain the lucky safety.

Why not? It free's up a roster spot. :D

Mmm ... but what if he drops it? :D

That would be awesome. Imagine the whole range of new punting plays that could be developed if Brady was the punter.

And stick Moss in on the punt team ;)

Ummmm, I was kinda kidding

Of course.

But here is a serious suggestion. You hire a rugby kicker and get him to break to the sideline and, once he gets back close to the line of scrimmage, kick it out of bounds. I saw FSU doing that in a game I happened to have on the TV. And I think some other college teams may do it. Of course, the kick won't be as huge, but it will be from further up, can have a lower trajectory and there will be no return. Add to that: if the punter sees an opening, he can run for the first down ...

And I have just the guy to do it for you. His name is Damien Traille

and he just played for France in the Rugby World Cup. Has a kick like a mule and is a great runner with the ball. I wonder if a football punter's salary would be enough to tempt him ...

Nah-Not on 4th down. they can knock it down and take over at the line of scrimmage.

Welker was a punter & kicker in HS-kicked a 47 yarder!
