With 13 seconds remaining in the Dallas game, Randy Moss is on the field apparently lined up as a corner in deep prevent coverage. Is he being prepped to take over where Troy Brown left off as a reserve DB for nickel situations or more?

i highly doubt it, it was just for good fun...

Yeah they showed a shot of Moss talking to Belichick right before that.

"Please coach!!"

funny ...
imagine Randy covering TO ..... and picks him.

Also did folks see Seau try to run onto the field on the last 4th down wanting to block as the FB? He got pulled off and did an "Aw Shucks!" jump of funny disapointment. I think BB makes it fun for these guys.

lmfao......you're kidding right

randy played 74 of 80 offensive snap on sunday.

Moss is the one player most likely to get injured making a tackle  ... IMO even our kickers are more prepared for that. Moss looks so likely to get injured when he gets hit but he's smooth even when getting tackled.

saw that one too... funny...

in the same vein......i'ld be surprised if they haven't work welker out at DB

Almost as good as Junior Seau, grinning like a kid, trying to run onto the field to block for Eckel's 4th-down run then jumping up and down when Daddy Belichick wouldn't let him out to play. :)

EDIT: oops, didn't see PatsWickedPissah say this above!

It was odd how the CBS camera crew instantly focused in on Moss on defense, but the announcers didn't take the cue.

Well, we HAVE been lacking a tall CB for quite some time now...

Moss will never be a DB. He doesnt like contact.
It was fun to see him out there on the last down though.

OTOH, I think Stallworth might be a Brown DB replacement down the line. Based on his after-catch runs, it looks like Stallworth enjoys the physical contact

Moss wasn't back there for tackles. He's tall and can jump so he's there to swat down Hail Mary passes. He's been used this way in the past. It's not new for him. It's just new that he's done it on the Pats.

As would I. I think he's got the moves and instincts to play a nickel/dime DB.

Welker was actually a stud CB in high school. Now granted the NFL is a lot different...
