Tom Brady is the best ever even better than the Immortal Peyton Manning!

I usually don't write these threads but its about time someone told all of those Colts fans that say he has never put up numbers (funny how they fail to look at what he had to work with) but anyway he has the guys now and he is on pace not just to break the record but to absolutely destroy the record. With a passing percentage of 72 percent he may break several records this year and its about damn time all we have actually numbers to prove what we already knew all along. Not that 18 aint great and I wouldn't be happy to have him if TB was never alive but I am so glad he is cause i have never seen anything like this in my 20 some years watching this team and this sport.

"He's as good as they come," cornerback Ronde Barber said. "I can't imagine anyone better. I know Tom (Brady) did us a couple of years ago, but this was ... surgical."

There was a time, Barber said, when he considered Brett Favre as the game's best quarterback. And, yes, he says he has tremendous respect for Brady. But he says Manning is the best the team has seen.

"We've been beaten handily before, but he just dissects you," Barber said, "He just knows where to go with the ball every time."

i think this was laid to rest the first game of the season...seems to me that qb comparison has almost died...

if u switcehd their places, Tom would have put career numbers up that were better then the HOFamers put together, not joking...

but if u ask him, im pretty sure he had rather have his 3 rings...and i would too

Manning is still better. Brady is close, but I still give the edge to Manning. No one runs an offense the way Manning does. And Brady has had better overall talent on his team than Manning has. And Im not just saying this year. The Pats defense has always had more talented guys on D than the Colts, and we all know that D usually wins championships.

Russell and Chamberlain....you can have Chamberlain all you want...I'll take Russell and the rings!!!

Stupid post dude.

When their carriers are over, you can look at what they did, and then have your opinion.

These guys like to play. Why on earth would you, at your little keypad try to leap over all the fun games that will come between these two guys (that will actually answer the question by the way) so that YOU can act like god and annoint one or the other.

Put your kingly hat down, and be a fan. Watch the games. Don't sweat over arguing who is better. They actually play games against each other in real life for cryin out loud. I mean, is there any other venue in life were this happens? And here you are trying to say, "my guy is better. My daddy is better. My truck is better. My goldfish is better."

Who the hell are you to tell me on a free forum what I can or can't write about. How do you know I haven't played at the college level or the pro level or perhaps maybe just the semi pro level and maybe I know a lil about the game. Even if I didnt this forum is a free one and its a pats one. Where do you get off telling me what is stupid?? I believe I said PM was a great QB so why dont you shut your trap and take you keypad as you put it and throw it away so no one has to read your self rightous commenting. What a tool

It just gets old to hear a masturbation fest of "our guy is better than their guy."

This would be interesting if it wasn't a team game. Maybe they should just do a QB challenge or something so we can put this to bed.

If Tom keeps this up all season, goes undefeated, breaks the TD record, AND wins the Super-Bowl, then I'll admit he's better than Peyton.

Heck, if that happens, only a FOOL would think otherwise.:p

His performance this season beg's the question though, why didn't Belichick and Co. get him some decent receivers 2 years ago? If they had, the Pats might be going for 5 in a row and 6 of the last 7.

Isn't it interesting though, that the 2 best qb's in the league, by a long shot, happen to be on the 2 best TEAMS in the league, by a long shot. Goes to show how important good quarterback play is in this league.

He's won more titles in fewer years and is putting up better numbers now that he FINALLY has comparable weapons.

Long story short, we won't be holding our breaths waiting for your admission. Most reasonable people already realize Brady's better.

I didn't know great receivers grew on trees. Belichick simply must not have known the location of the WR orchard.

if u dont have a qb, u dont have a team, pretty simple now a days

I don't think this will ever be put to bed, there's a chance that they'll go down as the 2 best QBs ever.

To reply to the OP, Yes, I think its an appropriate season to revisit "The Comparison", and by the way, the debate will rage until their careers are over. We are seeing possibly the two best QB's of all time playing head to head on a yearly basis. Like it or not, its the most relevant comparison of any two players playing any professional sport.

When Manning won the SB last year, after guiding his team past the Pats no less, the Manning contingent had an argument. Now that Brady has the same caliber weapons, we can say "ya see?" .

So, while its obvious that in previous years Manning had the weapons and put up the numbers while Brady each time guided HIS team past the Colts enroute to three SB rings, we can now finally make a side by side comparison of the weapons each QB has at their disposal.

Just one Pats Fan's opinion:

POSITION: ADVANTAGE:
OLINE: TIE - both teams have superior O line. Colts with more probowlers, perhaps, PATS with better coaching and group unity

RB: TIE (maybe PATS?) - Early indicators is that Addai wins over Maroney, but I think Maroney is juts itching to break out. Plus, I think we again get the coaching benefit here as well as greater depth with Faulk and Morris. I also think that our RB's give Brady more passing options, so I'm inclined to weigh this towards the Pats.

RECEIVERS, by top four positions: OVERALL - PATRIOTS:
#1 Reciever: PATS At this point, especially given Harrisons injury and his status going into the second half of the season, gotta give Moss the advantage. Arguably the best #1 reciever right now
#2 Reciever: COLTS I give Wayne the edge here, and I'm comparing him with Stallworth who is lining up as the #2 reciever in 3 WR sets, regardless of the fact that Welker may be the #2 option more often. Stallworth may be a faster and more skilled reciever, but Wayne has been playing with Manning for years and he's more like a second #1 option , rather than a #2.
#3 Slot reciever / supporting cast: PATS. Obvious. BB has brilliantly turned Welker into an integral part of the offense. Again, Welker is obviously the #2 or even #1 recieving option, but based on alignment he fits into the slot position often enough for the purpose of this argument.

TE: TIE : Tough call here. I think Clark wins over Watson, but not enough to give the Colts the overall edge. Both teams have depth ( as seen in the championship game), but add in our LB play on goal line packages and if anything this may go to the Pats.

So, in my book,PATRIOTS have the slight edge as far as supporting cast. I honestly pray that the Colts are 100% healthy for week nine. I don't want any excuses being made for Manning.

The hype leading up to week 9 is going to be sick! Get used to it now folks.

PS - I tried to format this cleanly and easy to read but I need to get some work done today!

I think the better argument is who the cb's who match up against these guys.

Really...last year it was Eric Alexander against Dallas Clark at times.

And i'm talking when zone isn't employed, when they man up.... who is gonna match up against moss, stallworth, welker, and watson?

and i'm guessing the pats

harrison covered by asante
wayne by hobbs
gonzalez by gay and maybe merriweather by season's end
clark by harrison or ad

The thing is that this has always been an imaginary comparison.

Brady did more with less and he does more with the same and he would do more with more.

Manning has always been number two, and will always be number two. He would not have won a single superbowl on our team. No cushy indoor stadium, no run game except 2004, and a lack of weapons or Oline play until now.

Nothing left to say on the subject, regardless of what trolls or mediots say.

But, isn't that the FO's fault, for not getting him the players to be successful with?

Long story short, we won't be holding our breaths waiting for your admission. Most reasonable people already realize Brady's better.

Well, Ronde Barber seems pretty reasonable and he thinks Peyton's better. See post #22. Oh well.......

I didn't know great receivers grew on trees. Belichick simply must not have known the location of the WR orchard.

Well, Deion Branch was a pretty decent receiver whom the pats just let walk. Bill wouldn't have needed an orchard, he could have started right there.
