I don't know Bill Belichick, but I respect him a lot despite all this Spygate garbage. A lot of teams steal signs and videotape their opponents when it makes sense. Belichick will tell you that his security team caught a Jets employee filming them last season in Gillette Stadium and he didn't go running to the commissioner's office. The word is that when the NFL picked up the Patriots' so-called Spygate files, the Patriots also supplied them with information about other NFL teams and what they might have been involved in.

The story needs to die and that just may be why. There is no doubt other teams were involved in similar things.

Why should the Pats be martyrs for the league? If we lose a 1st rounder, other teams should be exposed too.

Our first round draft pick was taken away, our reputation smeared, and now reports are coming out that more other teams might involved in similar activities and you want this to die?

I don't!

If the Pats took the high road by keeping quiet and suffer this humilation (crappy NY papers frigging put a * on our records??), then the story must be told.

iam sure peter king will pick this up:rolleyes:

We had our chances to expose them, I'll bet, and we chose not to. And Manjudas chose to expose us. That's it. No one is going to go on a league-wide witchhunt based on stuff that happened in past years..

The language to look at here is "Belichick will tell you," which is different from "Belichick told me," or "said directly." Makes me wonder about the guy's sources, and - if true - why more hasn't been said about this instead of hinted at by a few reporters here and there.

iam sure BB hasnt told him anything. But fox's jay glayzer is the one got the original tape so they might have some insight info.

Czarnecki is, IMO, the best NFL reporter. As a reporter, not a columnist, he avoids the wild speculation and innuendo so common to pseudo columnists like Peter King. he has impeccable sources working as the main info guy for Fox NFL Sunday. He presents his info with subtlety and in an understated fashion. Czarnecki likely got this info from Jimmy Johnson, BB's friend, with whom Czarnecki works closely.

Hey - stop knocking on Mr. King!! I think he is doing us a huge favor by bringing up the spygate scandal every other week that gets the Pats fired up against every opponent.

Keep it going Mr. King!!

Both Czarniecki and Pasquarelli seem to provide good info when they just report info, but their writing is so poor that I find myself skimming through columns even if I have an interest in them.

This actually makes alot of sense. It did kinda seem strange that once the NFL got the tapes, this whole story got knocked of the table so fast. Even Sirus's NFL station (owned by the NFL) stopped talking about basically overnight.

It would make sense that we had the goods on lots of teams and politely said "It's in your best interest to kill this story now" as we handed the tapes over. I never had a had a problem with King's whole premise that this died a quick death, only his "holier then thou" attitude and insinuations that we were doing more.

Anyone email this to Peter King and Gregg Easterbrook?

maybe pats had the tapes the jets and other teams taped and were confiscated when they did it in foxboro and provided or obliged to provide it as suppose to blow the whistle to get the so called suspension of BB ignored.
We will never know.

How come we don't hear more about the slick ball in the Buffalo/Dallas game. Now that's cheating.

Are you guys just figuring this all out now. This is why Mangini will always be known as a class "A" snitch for the remainder of his short lived coaching career

Here are some of the sequence of events that lead to Belichick disliking Mangini.

- Belichick recommends Mangini wait a year and go for a better head coaching job. Belichick stresses that the organization is a mess and the NY papers will eventually run you out of town if you fail. Belichick tells Mangini he would prefer it if he goes to a non-division rival. Mangini ignores him and takes the job.

- The Patriots lose the division playoff game to the Denver Broncos. On the flight back, Mangini tries recruiting players as he knows he will become the Jets HC. Word is Willie M had to tell Mangini to keep his $%$ing mouth shut.

- Patriots are in a difficult situation with Deion Branch as he elects not to honor his contract. Patriots hear rumblings that the NY Jets would welcome Branch and meet his asking price even though the Jets were all set at the wideout position and needed players at other positions. Patriots end up losing Branch to the Seahawks as the Jets drive up the price. Patriots lose the AFC championship on a team that clearly could have used Branch.

The guy is an absolute scumbag....and a hypocrite to boot.

That's exactly what the "unnamed source" told Peter King, but he completely misinterpreted it to mean there was more on the PATRIOTS.

Pete believed what he wanted to believe.
