Good grief would that be something to behold.

I was thinking abuot this today when I heard about Adrian Peterson .
WOW is all I can say

Our stud runningback is made of glass. Didn't you hear?

Petterson was all banged up going into the NFL. The kid is a monster. Tell me right now.... Do you think Maroney can stay healthy and carry the load if Morris is hurt for a long period of time?

let the debate begin!

I sure hope so.

I don't, if Morris is out for the season the Pats running game is in trouble.

The Patriots' running game will be fine, with or without Sammy. Maroney will be back next week. I think he'll have a monster game too; after Maroney watched his college teammate running like he did today, he'll be pumped up to put the pads back on next Sunday afternoon.

With the Patriots passing O, even if they had "fill in the blank" I don't know how big a difference it would make except for grinding out the end of a game and a few other obvious run situations. Even with who they have they average 155 a game. That may be before today -:0 Buy they still got 75 today w/o Maroney and Morris over 1/2 the game and despite it looking like Dallasd was gashing the Patriots on the ground they only got 97 themselves.
And Jones got more than Barber 51 to 47. I guess they donb't count east/west yards -:)

And the starting Runningback for your new england patriots.....Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicky Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiammmmmms.

WTF,we have a stud...Maroney will be fine....Don't you think BB is sideing on the side of caution....God speed on Sammy recovery....

IF either maroney or morris can't be counted on down the stretch,
This fan would like to bring back C Dillon.
Ok, so is he an upgrade over heath evans??
Have we already paid him a lot of $$$ for this season and next?
Would it bother him to get another ring?

OK, let the attacks and charactor assasinations begin.... :bricks:

Some of us knew we needed a 5th running back, even before the draft. We didn't have Eckel in mind. So in the end, we are forced to carry five running backs anyway. We could have picked up a veteran in free agency or a draftee at 28 or in the 3rd and been better off than depending on Eckel and Evans as running backs. How many of you are comfortable with Evans as the short yardage back, instead of say Crockett. Could you easily make a list of draftees that were available at 28 or in the 3rd, or with a trade from those positions? We basically had the choice of any running back picked after the 27th pick.

In the end, we chose to move cap money into 2008 and pick 28 and our 3rd. We did this because we jusdged that we had no significant need that could be addressed in free agency or in the draft. Some of us saw a need at running back. This is NOT hindsight. This was our mantra BEFORE the draft.

Of course, Maroney will be back at 100% next week, and we won't have any other running back injuries. And one of us will win the lottery this week. Couldn't we at least consider a Plan B? Or are we really fine with Faulk, Evans and Eckel.

IMHO, this is a risk the FO took, knowingly. We CHOSE to be thin at running back in order to carry a 7th safety on the opening day roster.

Maroney,Morris,Faulk,Evans,Eckel

When you can throw it like we can, you don't need a stud RB. Just ask Joseph Addai, Domenic Rhodes, Kenton Keith, etc.

You don't need one with this passing offense obviously But could you imagine if we did have one. OMG, Moss would have 25 TD's by years end!

Heavy sigh. Maroney will be back next week. I don't want hear you or danny or any of the other chicken littles saying a freakin' WORD about how "surprised" you are that he's such a talented playmaker. Just stay quiet and humble and let the rest of us talk football.

Maroney has a fantastic opportunity to be a superstar.

Chicken little:confused:

You don't even know me arsehole.

Go read the game thread if you want to see chicken littles.

If Morris is hurt long term the Pats need help at running back. That is my opinion, and this is an internet opinion board.
