For myself and I assume for many, yesterday (his WEEI appearance) once and for all revealed Peter King's true colors. I have not been a fan of his for quite some time, but his recent reporting on the Patriots has been the definition of unprofessional and unethical reporting.

He has made it his own personal mission to be the man who brings down Bill Belichick.

This is not Greg Easterbrook or even Collingsworth. No, instead, Peter King has earned much more respect than those guys and actually probably does have the influence needed to really tarnish Bill Belichick and put an asterik next to the Patriots' accomplishments.

However, whatever respect Peter King has earned over the years has been completely diminished in recent weeks for his tabloid-esque coverage of "spy-gate".

I think as Pats fans, we should let SI.com know that we will not support this kind of reporting, particularly from a guy who, for the most part, is taken quite seriously.

I've let SI.com know that I will be boycotting Peter King's articles from now on. I hope other fans who are as displeased with this guy let their opinions be known as well. I will also not be posting in any threads about Peter King or his articles from now on (well, besides this one :) ) because its a waste of time.

I already boycotted him for the season after that stupid column he wrote saying BB should write a groveling apology letter to that twit Goodell and the rest of the western world for all of his enormous sins.

I don't agree that he has that much influence in NFL circles and he is, in my Pats-biased opinion, eroding his own credibility rather than BB's. It will be interesting to see if he continues on his mission this week after apparently receiving quite a pasting at the hands of Dale & Holley & Pats fans yesterday on WEEI.

Where does one write to SI??? WHO is teh one who is important there?? Is there an ombudsman who overlooks the writers?? Is it possible to in some way do something a bit more aggressive than that? A way to boycott products Si pushes?? (Frankly..the economic thing always hits home more than others....)

Dale & Holley could've been harder on him. I'd love to see the Big Show, well, Fred and Steve, have a shot at him because they would love to expose this guy.

While I'd like to think he doesn't have a lot of influence, I still have to put him above other Pats-conspiracy theorists out there. King could damage BB's reputation, and unfairly so, so I think Pats fans should spring to action a little bit and let King's employers know that they won't stand for it. Will it do anything? Probably not, but no harm in making one's opinion known.

I bet he will still be leading the cheating chorus on Inside the NFL next week.

He said yesterday on WEEI that he was "offended" by what BB did. I have no idea what is going on in his head.

One is the sports related feedback and the other is the "write to the editor" thing. Only two links I could find. If anyone else finds a better one, please let me know.

IHe said yesterday on WEEI that he was "offended" by what BB did.
yes he did...and D&H missed teh knockout punch on that one......(I had e-mailed them about asking King if he thought the practice of avoiding the 15 second coach to QB blackout was also cheating and what he thought about that. It was in Sando's column how MANY teams somehow technologically have a large advantage by NOT being blacked out for those 15 seconds...clearly THAT is a very large advantage!!) By asking King about that it puts him on the spot......He says he IS offended by it and one can throw the fact that he hasn't looked into it or mentioned it at all and one can see the hypocrisy of THAT. If he poh-poohs it, one can say that he doesn't undesrtand football at all..an dhaving a large advantage LIKE that is far more cheating than anything the Patriots did.
D&H failed..and had the opportunity...THAT question to me tells me where King is.....if he is as outrahed about that fine..but his actions do NOT back that up..if he is NOT at all outraged, then it's all an anti-Patriot vendetta...
A swing and a miss D&H struckout....

I don't subscribe to SI but I'll stop contributing to their web traffic. Equine abuse to the extreme. :bricks:

Well, our buddy was just on the NBC Halftime Show at the BC-ND game standing by his quote of Wade Phillips.

He claims (in a hopeful, whistling past the graveyard voice) that it (the Phillips quote) will all be forgotten by Sunday.

Yeah I just saw that, he said absolutely 100% that is what Phillips said. What a moron. The Pats are really going to destroy them now. Can't wait.

Did anyone catch Wades' comments, he said that Peter King during there conversation "went on and on about it, it was his agenda and compared it to watergate. I was just trying to hold a conversation with him" If that doesnt speak to King's lovers scorn agenda driven attitude then I dont know what does.

Besides boycotting SI, I encourage folks to drop HBO. Besides the fact that Collinsworth et al spew their horse nuggets there, its basically a waste of $15. If I wanted to see "Weekend at Bernies II" 5,000 times, I could buy the DVD.

Do you have any facts to back up your call for a boycott? ;)

Actually if you're serious, everyone should cancel their subscriptions to SI as well as avoid the website completely.

It really puts in perspective how out of control he is.

Basically, not only did he rat out what Phillips said to him in private, he is now calling Phillips a liar. This is horrible for his career as a reporter, no one will tell him jack from now on.

The guy is literally willing to hinder his own career to try and bring down the Pats. He's psycho.

Yeah, I'm done going to their site (and haven't subscribed for quite some time now).

Hey, and who needs "facts" anyway when you have "conjecture"...King's favorite thing.

Between the cameragate thing and the Wade Phillips thing, it's almost like he is deliberately trying to annoy the Pats so they go out and win more Lombardis!

wait till king comes up in football night in america or american night of football or whatever it is tommorow. He will team up with costas and collinsworth to carry on the story.

King made it clear as day what I have long suspected is the ultimate goal of the media here. He said he wanted BB to essentially open a vein and kneel before him and the rest of the moralizing mediots.

I couldn't believe his answer to Holley's question: What is it you are looking for from this whole situation? King responded: I want to know why this was done, how it was done, and how much was done. While that may seem somewhat benign, the moron had just told the listening audience the answer to each of those questions not more than 2 minutes prior during Holley's last question. He said they did it for a very small competitive advantage. Obviously he knows HOW it was done, duh. Finally, he said that he believed the commissioner when he said that nothing was done in the Super Bowls; putting at least a ceiling on the "how much was done" aspect. Yet, the moronic King somehow had the temerity to completely disregard everything he had previously said not 2 freaking minutes ago and state those three questions as the reason why he is keeping this story alive.

Then, even more unbelievably, King did as I said above: he admitted that what he wants out of this is for BB to bend over and take it from the media.

F him and his righteous indignation. All his credibility is shot, in my eyes. His reasoning is so void of anything close to resembling sound logic that I will no longer read this column every Monday.

I have always hated Inside the NFL even when it was Dawson and Buoniconti because I thought the first was boring and the second arrogant.

With Collinsworth, Marino and Carter you get three super arrogant personalities who NEVER won a flipping thing but act like they won 6 Super Bowls each.

So I've always boycotted that show.

I boycotted King several weeks ago when he chastised Howie Long in his column because Long suggested that certain members of the media and coaches had been waiting in the weeds to take their shot at BB.

How can anybody possibly try to say that's not the case? I don't care what your stance on spy gate is it's impossible to deny some people out there, Prisco etc, are only as outraged as they are because it's BB.

If this was Parcells, Dungy or the fat walrus in Seattle you better believe a lot of these outraged "reporters" would have a different take.

I'd love to hear Prisco calling into question Manning or Favre's Super Bowls.

So I wrote King a letter after that saying I would never read his trash again and I won't.

Cold Hard Football and other non-network outlets are the only ones worth reading with ESPN, SI, Fox, CBS Sports Line and others being just sensationalistic BS put out there to appease the masses, and the masses are @sses.
