Being a rookie and all, does he have IT and have you been happy with his play?
How would you rate him as far?
thanks

does he have it? you cant tell until hes a starter

happy with his play? with his given role..yes. Hes doing well as an STer and coming in every now and then

cant rate him yet..gotta see him get more significant playing time. He hasnt done anything bad so hes fine

Hello, you know i was asking the same question from my good friend just a few days ago. The one thing that worried me in a game i watched after he had made a tackle he continued to taunt the guy he tackled ! I dont remember who pushed him away and tried to calm him down { Vrabel i think }. I guess he was over reacting but that worries me sometimes. Just my thought, but my opinion is that he will be one great player in our defense.

it was 1 tackle and it wasnt taunting. he pushed him a little late and Housh had something to say

as remix stated he is not going to play much except for st. that is how every bb team grows their players.

and its not because talent/his development. Wilson is doing well..Harrison is slowing taking back the spot from Sander's whos played very well. if theres no need for Meriweather at the moment..BB will not put him in unless he needs to.

I saw enough from Meriweather in the Bengal game to provide confidence that he can be a solid starter and an emotional leader of this defense in the future. Another thing I like about him is that he didn't blown any assignments in the preseason by jumping routes (a la Ellis Hobbs his rookie year) in order to flash playmaking ability and justify his draft status. He's just doing exactly what the team is asking of him, which shows mental maturity, patience and a team first attitude. Rumor has it he has been very quiet in the locker room and kept to himself a bit, but I chalk that up to feeling a bit insecure as a rookie and his intense competitive nature, wanting to contribute more. Meriweather seems like the type of player who is always better in games than in practice, because his great value is his love of violence and fearless attitude. Those qualities can't really be measured in practice, and as a result onlookers and insiders, who criticized him after a nondescript preseason, may have underestimated his talent.

one possible concern about Meriweather is his physical stature. Playing the kind of physical games he does, his build may be a bit slight to hold up over time. If he can be brought along slowly this season, injury free, a full offseason should alleviate those concerns.

He's played more than just S/T's, a bit more each week (I think), and has done solidly for a rookie in a complex scheme. He hasn't busted out like crazy, a la Deion Branch as a rookie, but I think there's reason for optimism.

He plays hard all the time, he tries to be in on every hit. Honestly, he reminds me of Rodney and I think he's being groomed to being the player that every reciever will be thinking about as they cross the middle of the field. From watching preseason and when he's play in regular games, the kid has a motor, no doubt !

I'm sure Brandon is going to get a lot of reps this season.
BB seems to like to have him in the line up.
One play that stands out for me and I can't remember the game but the running back was approaching the los coming around when Brandon came up to meet him. RB thought he was going to bull rush brandon backward but Merriwheter turned the tables and drove him back further into the backfield.
Yeah, I think this kid is going to be real good.

I agree, I saw that in every video of Merriweather after the draft. After EVERY tackle, he jumps up and does something quirky, in a sort of "Look at me !!" type of way. I hate it, but this is today's NFL, people act like imbeciles after a special team tackles (skipping, jumping, arms waving, etc)......so you have to expect that. I personally hate the smack talk and showboating.

That being said, I do like what I have seen from him, he looks like he has a ton of talent, and could be something special. At least from the minimal amount I've seen him.

I agree. But if we can forgive Seau for it, why not Meriweather too?

He's shown me nothing. Total bust, if you ask me. Him and that slacker, alway-hurt Maroney. Cut 'em both. We're fine with Sammy Morris and Eugene Wilson.

When he plays I notice he is wherever the ball goes. He gets in the plays and that says a lot to me. If he continues to hustle and work hard I bet he ends up being a very solid player.

I haven't seen enough on him,but what I seen he is doing fine....
