First of all when on offense the pats will spread the cowboys out with 4 receiver sets and we know the cowboys can't cover anyone so they definitely won't be able to cover moss, wes walker, gaffney, ben watson etc. As far as cowboys thinking they can put pressure on brady, LOL , the cowboys can't put pressure on that good offensive line. Brady will have timeto throw and it won't be good for the cowboys. I think they will go 4 receiver set for the most part and it will destroy the cowboys. On defense the pats will smash romo's face in and that smile won't be present. When he is free he will go to witten (because that's his best friend) rather than T.O. which he should because he's the playmaker on that team. Belichick will double team with the safety over the top and live with witten, crayton, hurd making plays which they won't because like all of the cowboys they aren't ready for primetime. witten might come through with 7 or 8 catches but they won't make an impact in the game. Moss and Brady will dominate. pats win 41-25. This game will probably be over by halftime. I think the hype of this game is unwarranted, the pats are on another level, the real "game of the year" is Nov.4th against the colts, one of these teams will win the superbowl this year.

Re: Pats/ cowboys won't live up to the hype

The Cowboys are 5-0 so they deserve the respect of being undefeated just like the Patriots and the Colts do. That said, I do agree that they won't deserve that respect after the game because I expect us to take it to them pretty good. Their ability to rush the passer is a little scary but I think if they try it full tilt we just have too many options now. This isn't 2006, Wade Phillips.

Wasn't the Colts 11-0 when they went to the Cowboys stadium and lost?

Also you say the Cowboys are not ready for Primetime...I think there one of the Masters of Prime time along with the Steelers and 49's...all 5 time superbowl winners so don't be to ****y...it should be a good game but I don't expect a blowout by half time, the boys are not 0-5 jeez

You say the game will probably be over by halftime yet you pick NE to win by only 16 ? - That does not sound like such a thrashing as your homer view of the game states.

Unless you expect Romo to score often in the second half with the pats 41-0 at halftime?

Homer views of every game the pats play as some of you expect total domination all 16 games is almost hilarious at times like the other teams won't show up to play or we are 20 points better than every other team in the league - please....The NFL is not fantasy island and Ricardo Montalban is not the commish.

Beleive me as a HUGE Patriots fan myself I think they will win but you make it sound as if they are playing Notre Dame,This wil be a tough game to win at a very hostile environment,I will be glad if NE pulls this out by 2 points let alone to kill Dallas which is not likely IMO,They are not 5-0 because they played division 1 teams

Oh my God, has it come to this? That we are so dominant and put the game away so early that you can say, "We only win by 16?"

I've seen a lot of games over by have time, and the fial score was less than 16 as the losing team fought hard for a garbage time score (mark of a loser, btw), and the winning team focused on sidelines and big plays, and let them drive 5-10 yards at a time as long a a time-killing tackle was made inbounds.

"You only pick NE to win by 16."

Wow.

Believe you? Sorry, I cannot believe anyone who claims to be a huge fan who thinks the Patriots will barely squeek out a win, unless he weighs 400 pounds.

I still have my 2001 T-shirt (front and back):
If you didn't believe
Don't talk to me now

Living down to their last game ... i guess.
And still receding.

The Cowboys will probably give us our best game of the year...
They may even score more than 17 points...

But I hope that we desecrate and defile them.
I want us to go caveman on them to the national audience and show them what a champion calibur team can do. (Just like we had our way with the chargers( I see little difference))
Heres hoping for
42 Pats 21 Cowboys
Dominance!
Fear us : You have NO HOPE.

Why is a prediction of NE winning big considered a "homer" pick?

Maybe he really believes it to be so based on serious analysis?

Would you have railed against anyone who predicted NE hold Indy to 3 point in 2004? Or that NE would put up 41 on Pitt?

Oh, and your point about 16 points not being a thrashing is silly based on how you chided me in my thread after the Cleveland game.

I don't expect a close final score. I expect it to be 17+. It could be uglier though. It depends upon whether the 'Boys can cover better than I think they can. I think we see a lot of Sammy Morris in quarter four. By the time it's over their defense should be gassed and fully aware of who has the better team.

If you guys want to believe that the Patriots will annihilate every opponent in 2007 then let me know when you return from fantasy island - Its one thing to be a Patriots fan,Its another to be a dillusional fan

I think these first 4 games in which we won decisively has gone to some fans heads to the point of becoming obnoxious and arrogant

Be happy if we win by 2 points this week or any in the future,If all of us were dolphins fans you would be thrilled to win at all,let alone by 2 points.

This team is the best we have ever seen in NE,Enjoy every win -Whether its by 2 points or 20

Bottom line is the W - Not by how much we destroy the opponent which means s-it,except for stats freaks

If we win by a bunch then it will be great,If we kick a FG at the end to win by 1 point it will be just as great

Some of you will probably be suicidal if we only win by 1 from what I see at times in here, you guys want nothing but 20 points wins every week which is not going to continue every week and there will be very close games down the road which could go either way, trust me its a certainty

What?!

First off, this is completely asinine. Second it has no relevence whatsoever to the questions that you were asked. :bricks:

Come one, man. You have to be able to do better than that.

I will state what I feel is everyone's opinion and give you one last shot at answering it.

If NE plays a great game and loses I'll be upset and I'll lament some of the missed opportunities, but I will be equally in awe that someone, anyone could take them down playing their best.

If NE plays a poor game and loses I'll be very disappointed.

If NE plays a great game and wins REGARDLESS OF THE SCORE I'll be very happy.

If NE plays a poor game and wins, I'll be very happy but I won't be afraid to point out what I thought were mistakes.

Where in hell are you getting this misguided impression that only 20 point wins satisfy anyone? Since when does a victory absolve a team from criticism?

I don't think its far off from anything that I was asked,I was asked is it a considered a homer to think the Pats will win big and this apparently is probably going to be what will be posted every week from here on out no matter who the opposition is.

Hell,I am waiting to read the post from someone who will state that NE should beat Indy by 30 in November

If you think the Pats will decisively kill EVERY opponent for the next 11 weeks then YES - You are a dillisional homer - case closed....

You need to read other posts like in last week where there were opinions like it was only a 17 point win and are we in trouble and something similar to that in other posts..not just this particular one

Thats is general to what this discussion is about besides of course the nature of this upcoming game against an unbeaten opponent.

I agree.
Except we will balance Maroney/Morris for first 3 quarters then take mercy on them after we are up by 3 scores with Evans (1.8 YPC) and or Eckel (If he plays).

So, becaus someone feels that NE will win big this week, you then extrapolate that he is saying that NE will win big every week, and then you attack him for saying what he didn't say.

Gotcha.

If NE plays like they did against Cleveland, do they beat Dallas? Probably not. The score hid the fact that the team did not play particularly well.

The above statement, despite your contentions, is fact. So why is it ludicrous for someone to say, "If they play like that against Dallas/Indy/Pitt, they are in trouble"?

No offense, but you keep spelling delusional wrong.
Maybe, just maybe you are delusional for not expecting the team to play to its ability.

I do think it is possible to beat INDY by 30. Just 98% improbable tho:rolleyes:
