Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

LMAO.

"Belichick is a much better coordinator than head coach, which the Patriots will find out."

Ah yes, good stuff :D

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

That's awesome, wow Prisco. And this is the guy who tries to tell me his picks each week.

I'm kind of new here so apologies if this has been done already, but can we start a thread where people post the pre-SB Bellichick commentary they find and see what people wrote back then? I remember even Holley or someone wrote that he'd be a huge failure.

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

someone mail this coldhardfootballfacts or WEEI . will be great fun.

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

Now that's funny.

One of these is not like the others. Can you spot the mistake?
20. Mike Sherman
21. Dave Wannstedt
22. Dom Capers
23. Gregg Williams
24. Dave Campo
25. Herman Edwards
26. Butch Davis
27. **** Jauron
28. Mike Riley
29. **** LeBeau
30. Bill Belichick
31. Marty Mornhinweg
32. Dave McGinnis

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

Wow, love that link. It's funny how stupid that list looks now six years later. Dave Campo is six places ahead of 30th place BB. :bricks:

The top of the list is every bit as interesting as the bottom. It's easy to forget that Dennis Green was considered an elite coach not too long ago.

OK, everybody -- care to try your hand at a 2007 version? How would you rank the 32 coaches today?

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

Wow. 25th for Herm Edwards. He was even overrated back then. :D Here's what my 2007 top ten list would look like.

1. Bill Belichick
2. Mike Shanahan
3. Tony Dungy
4. Mike Holmgren
5. Jeff Fisher
6. Andy Reid
7. Joe Gibbs
8. Brian Billick
9. Jon Gruden
10. Gary Kubiak

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

It's amazing that Prisco is given ANY forum in which to post his ignorance. He must have pictures of someone in a compromising situation. Or maybe they just don't pay him much...

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

18 out of the 29 coaches ranked ahead of him aren't even head coaches in the NFL anymore. :)

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

Wow, good catch.

It's amazing that anyone leaves any of these online articles up for that long. People would begin to realize how ridiculous some of these "experts" really are.

Re: "Coaches poll from June 2001,

I found this old Big Board from Kiper the other day... from 2001.
http://espn.go.com/melkiper/s/2001/0112/1010603.html

LT is rated 25a, Seymour is 15.

They way it panned out LT went #5 and Seymour #6. An age old question I have always wondered is how high the Patriots had rated LT? would they have taken him at 6 if he were available?

Tony Dungy has the best quality of them all. Whenever the fan base wants him fired, the team wins the upcoming Super Bowl.

(Colts fans were vocal last year to have Dungy fired after the Houston loss and near-loss against Miami before the playoffs last year. And in Tampa, that team won the Super Bowl after firing Dungy.) Maybe his players and coaches feel guilty and improve their games?

I like to pull this old chestnut out once in a while. Shows how far we've come. By the way Buschbaum was no hack, he practically invented the modern media coverage of the draft.

Patriots the team that's most set up for failure

The question posed to NFL insiders was: Which team had the least chance of making the playoffs or going to the Super Bowl in the next five years? The Patriots were a unanimous choice, but several other teams will have more than their share of obstacles to overcome as well.

Almost all the scouts we spoke to gave the following reasons for picking the Patriots.

1. The Patriots are in salary-cap hell because they spent money unwisely due to their inability to evaluate their own talent.

It continues...................
