I know there's already a thread about the Breer-Tomase chat...

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/showthread.php?t=63592

...but there seems to be a genuine news item buried in the transcript that deserves highlighting:

We spoke to Seymour recently and he intimated that he probably won't be back when he's eligible to leave the PUP, but that any characterizations of his injury as season-ending are incorrect. My guess is he'll push the PUP thing as far as he can and return around Week 9 or 10.

I just hope he is healthy when he comes back!

I read somewhere that if you don't practice till Week 9 you don't have to get off the PUP till Week 12...is this the case? Trust me I do not wish this on Seymour but it may be an option for the likes of say Eddie Jackson

I just hope he comes back period. The Pats defense will hold the fort down until he is ready to return.

My impression of Seymour since he received his last contract is that

he is no longer among the most dedicated Patriot's players. I think he will

take advantage of his PUP status for as long as he can and not be

declared fit to play until the last possible minute.

Players must be activated or placed on IR (or kept on PUP? Same thing anyway) within 3 weeks of starting to practice. They can begin practicing any time from week 6 to week 9. Long story short, you are correct; the latest a player can come off of PUP is week 12.

Seymour = Manny.

I agree but would say that since his last contract, he's not as good as he was before.

QB12

Dang. After Green was slightly exposed vs. Cleveland I was hoping Seymour would come back soonish, before Green gets worn down.

Seymour should get his ass back as soon as it is ready.

I don't know who said it, but if it's Tomase I know it's not true.

That's too bad. What are your observations that lead to that conclusion?

You bet! He was way off base with that crazy story about Tedy breaking his wrist, and the outrageous suggestion that Chad Jackson hurt his knee in the AFCCG, and...hey, wait a second...

I'd be the first to say that some of Tomase's opinions make me grit my teeth. But his record of breaking news on Pats player injuries is very good.

Wow, no need for facts or reason when we can instead attack a man's character.

I don't trust a word he says.

My impression of you is that you're spazzing out and that these suspicions of Seymour somehow dogging it or "pulling a Manny" are completely baseless and unfounded.

Kind of the like the excuses you make for Chad Jackson and Maroney? You call me negative , yet all you do is defend every player on the team no matter the circumstance.

It could never be a patriot would maybe milk and injury! No never!

Well then you have just, ironically enough, impugned your own character in saying so.

This thread is ludicrous. What a bunch of kneejerk spazzes - Seymour's no longer dedicated! Tomase lies about everything! What's the point of such mindless drivel? This isn't a common football board. Raise the level of your input or take your lame-ass postings somewhere else. Pathetic.
