Cowboys-Patriots chat: Corners need help

Breer is a nuts and bolts football writer. Tomase is a decent baseball writer, but that beat is overflowing so he got stuck with football, to his chagrin, and his efforts to conceal that disappointment are transparent. I don't appreciate Tomase mocking Boston's love of football compared with baseball to out of towners, a trite cliche proven untrue over and over again by TV ratings. I don't appreciate Tomase agreeing that the Patriots Sbs are now dubious due to "videogate". With friends like these who needs enemies.

I think Tomase does as good a job, if not better, with football than he did with baseball.

I give Tomase credit for pretending he cares about football. The ability to consistently fake interest is the true sign of a professional.

I skipped the Tomase parts because (well, for obvious reasons) but I can't believe be said that. Not because he should be a homer but because that the argument of a guy who just doesn't get it.

Perhaps someone should send Tomase the ESPN Nation poll from yesterday asking what people are most looking forward to watching this weekend.

Nationally: Pats-Boys 63% Sox-Indians 21%

Massachusetts: Pats-Boys 55% Sox Indians 42%

He gets it. He gets it like a preacher who up-butts some little boy in the wood shed and then pretends to be Reverend Goodshine on Sunday. Everybody is Mother Theresa now that Bill got caught in a pathetically irrelevant scam.

That may be the most disturbing thing I've ever read on this board. Just nasty.

Journalism Hall of Shame

[Question]: John, how much do you think Belichick's cheating has contributed to the Patriots being so dominant over the past 10 years?

John Tomase: A fair question, especially when you consider that they won three Super Bowls by a field goal. I don't think you can discount the impact of even the slightest edge in those situations.

Tomase can pick the Patriots to win big.
He can call them the best in the NFL.

Nothing, however, can undo this slur.
(Copied here in case the site decides to take it down.)

Tomase permanently joins such other dark luminaries as
Borges ... Felger ... King ... Collinsworth ... Easterbrook
in the Journalism Hall of Shame.

Yeah, I didn't like the slur much either. But this one had me rolling on the floor. :D

THEBOYS: John, can you please inform the sports talk shows in Dallas that IF the Patriots beat the Cowboys, they won't destroy the city in a Godzilla-like post-game rampage and that the sun will rise the next morning?

John Tomase: I wish I could, boys, but the Pats will rampage through Dallas like Godzilla AND Mothra. And maybe even that giant turtle thing.

That may be the most disturbing thing I've ever read on this board. Just nasty.

If it wasn't for you, he could have had second thoughts and edited it out.:D

Nasty that I said it, or nasty that they do it?

I only made it to the( butts up) part before I moved on. I thought it was going in that direction, and didn't need to read anymore.
