Romo-Brady or Moss-Owens - Which matchup of star players is more intriguing?

Romo and Brady have been tearing up the NFL through the air this year (not including Romo's monday night performance) and both QBs have been the integral part of the wins for each respective team throwing for tons of yardage and TDs galore.

Moss has been more dominant between the 2 WRs but T.O. is the guy the Cowboys usually look for in a pinch while Moss has more often been the home run king.

Which matchup of star players figures to be most intriguing leading up to this game between NE and Dallas?

I will assume Brady and Romo will be the talk of the media this week but Moss and T.O. are no slouches for everyone's opinion on the comparison between the two this week.

Romo at this early part of his career has nowhere near the credentials Brady has but he looks to be in line for one of the next elite QBs once the Brady and Manning era fades away.

Brady is an NFL legend, Romo is overrated.

Moss is one of the greatest receivers in NFL history, TO is a scumbag who drops balls in the clutch.

Nobody else is in Brady and Manning's league right now. None of the younger players will ever come close to being as good as they were/are. Maybe eventually a star will rise but not now.

I think alot of people were saying the same types of things when Elway,Kelly and Aikman were tearing up the 90s that there won't be another QB like these guys for awhile but within a few years later Brady and Manning arose to prominence so you never kjnow how long it will take till the next great QB rises up from the ashes.

I am not saying DEFINATE future star,I say potential to be a good one

The way he performed against the SB Champs last year in the regular season was magnificent,if he can adjust and have games against the big boys more often then he will have earned a spot in the top 5 QBs,Right now hes on the bubble but with potential to sneak in.

When it comes to top talent at the QB position,I put Manning and Brady in a isolated room right now,There are no others who have shown enough to join them just yet but it won't last forever,QBs will eventually come along and replace Manning and Brady as tops at the position - Probably within the next 3 years will we see a guy rise up and seriously challenge Elite QB status.

Will that next special talented QB be Romo,Young,Campbell,Edwards,Palmer,Leinhart or maybe a guy still in college,It remains to be seen.

The media always has that attitude of 'what have you done for me lately' not what has happened in the past - With that being said, Brady and Romo have both been leaders in the QB stats dept. with Romo ahead on INTs with his horrid game on MNF

I must say, it is difficult to imagine who will replace Brady and Manning atop the NFL's QB pedestal. Those two are so good, so far ahead of the rest right now, that I simply cannot imagine football without them.

Realistically speaking, not a single QB comes close to them right now. Sure, Romo and Palmer can have huge games every once in a while and they have loads of potential, but they are just not as consistent as the Big Two.

Lets look at the rising stars of the future:

- Carson Palmer: the most likely QB to rise to the top. He has already had one monster season and has established a career QB record of well above 90. He is now in his 5th season and if his team actually starts winning some games, the sky would be the limit for him.

- Tony Romo: very inconsistent, but capable of some amazing performances. If he can find some consistency and stop making silly mistakes, he could be something very special.

- Ben Roethlisberger: he will never put up huge passing numbers, but he is steady, consistent, and very tough. After one bad season, he is right back on track.

- Matt Schaub: he is starting to show signs of becoming a star and the resilliency he showed in continuing to perform well despite the absence of Andre Johnson points to a strong mentality and a tough character. He could be a good one.

- Vince Young: at this point, I feel that he is overrated. In several games I have seen, his teams wins in spite of him, not thanks to him. He needs to improve immensly if he is to belong to the NFL's elite.

- Eli Manning: bitter disappointment and no signs of progress

- Brett Favre: he make mistakes, but considering that he still has at least 10 more years to play in the NFL, he should have enough time to iron out his decision-making problems.

You may add Trent Edwards to that list soon,His first 2 games have already made many people forget Losman - He looks like the real deal for Buffalo and thier quest to become decent again.

I got nothing but respect for Carson Palmer and believe him to be the only QB in the league worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Brady and Manning, but is his remaining window of opportunity that much bigger than Brady's? He's only two years and four months younger and has suffered an injury that we can only hope Brady never has to contend with. He's also stuck with a psychotic cast of characters on that team. The silver lining may be that Indy showed you can win a superbowl with a mediocre defense but the Bengals got a way to go before even hitting "mediocre" on that side of the ball.

I don't really see him as an eventual replacement for Brady or Manning. He's pretty much in the same generation, he just may end up having his talent wasted playing for a lousy coach and... oh wait they don't even have a General Manager!

As for the people that are actually a bit younger... Roethlisberger is game manager but hey, at this point he's already experienced the highs and lows and he's still young and seems to have bounced back from having bounced off a windshield (sorry, couldn't resist). I like Vince Young but he is essentially what Michael Vick should have been as an NFL QB and I'm not sure if that is saying too much. You run that much and you're jeopardizing your health.

Romo... sorry, gotta show me something in the playoffs first.

I don't really know who the next Brady and Manning are, maybe they're not in the NFL yet. I will say Jason Campbell has been pretty damn impressive this year.
