Hey everyone! Been awhile since I stopped in here. Last year I was active in these forums for awhile. I took my girlfriend to a Patriots game last December for her birthday and got some GREAT information here and also met some really cool people! I'm sure it was a little difficult to be nice to someone like myself (explained later....keep reading :) ), but I truly appreciated all the kind guidance and tips I got from you all here at patsfans.com!

So.....I'm back. :D I'm thinking of taking my girlfriend to another game this year. She is a HUGE Pats fan and we definitely enjoyed the game last year in Foxboro. I, on the other hand, am a die-hard Steelers fan with Black and Gold running through my veins, so I would LOVE to get my hands on some tickets to the Pats/Steelers brawl in December!

Unfortunately, tickets seem pretty pricey for this game and not sure what kinda budget I'll have to play with. I realize this is probably a LONG SHOT, but if anyone out there is a season ticket holder or knows season ticket holders and won't be able to make it to this game, PLEASE let me know. I'd be happy to pay above face value for the tickets, but these ticket brokers' prices are insane! Any help or ideas on where to get tickets at a reasonable price would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks so much for your time, and congratulations on an outstanding season so far! Your Pats really are looking dominant, and I wish them luck (except when they play my Steelers! ;) ). Thanks again!

If you do make it to the game, show proper etiquette and leave your Terrible Towel at home.

Actually, you raise a valid concern. Just for the record, I don't hate the Pats, I just happen to be born and raised in the Pittsburgh area, and will always love my Steelers first and foremost. Nothing wrong with a little hometown pride! However, my girlfriend harrassed me for weeks, trying to get my to wear some Pats gear (jersey, hat, etc.) to the game in Foxboro last year. I, of course declined, and chose to wear "neutral" colors. I actually DID root for the Pats that day, out of respect for the team, their fans, and most importantly my girlfriend. It was her birthday gift afterall, and really the day was all about her. I can't promise that I won't be rooting for the Steelers if I go to the game, but I can assure you that I will be respectful of the Pats and their fans, as I have always been. Thanks for the reply though!

Let him bring the terrible snot rag to the game. He'll need it to dry his eyes
by the end of the first quarter.

I'd probably need it to clean up the beer/soda/food thrown at me in the stands. ;)

Hmm....a few Steeler haters stalking around in here, huh? That's ok. I can take it. We'll see what's up on December 9th!

Yeah, we oughtta be okay with just the super bowls, plural -- past and future. Why torture the one-bowl wonders any more?

I went to the game with a Browns fan yesterday (nicest guy you will ever meet), and man, he got the business from the fans. We almost got into it with some morons a couple of times.

If people were this rough on lowly Browns fans, I cant imagine wht it is going to be like for guys walking around in Jets or Steeler jerseys.

Ummm....huh? One Bowl Wonders?! You're kiddin, right? Tell ya what.....talk to me when the Pats have their "One for the thumb". :D

Yeah, one bowl wonders. There's one person on earth that cares how much Terry Bradshaw scores these days, and it's his wife, unless there really is something going on with Jillian Barbieri.

Or do you actually think Hines Ward was playing in the 70s?

One-bowl wonders. Cope.

If this post made any sense I'd probably be able to respond appropriately, but since it doesn't.......

So, what you're saying is that you only count Superbowl wins from 2002-2005since those are the only ones the Pats won? What about I through XXXV? I think you might have missed a few years. Maybe you were in a coma?

What I'm saying is, your present team -- coaches, players, the lot of them -- are one-bowl wonders. They know they play for a team that in the distant past was a powerhouse, but I don't see "one for the thumb" applying if you are missing them for the four other fingers. Plus, I'm not absolutely certain all of them actually have thumbs, per se. But I'd call that a couple million more years tops. I'm not giving the New York Football Giants present-day dynasty status, nor the Packers, nor the 9ers, the Cowboys, or anybody else. If there's no continuity, all you know is that some guy that looks like your dad or your grand-dad thinks it's just keen that you won "one for the thumb."

The achievements of Bradshaw, Swann, Harris, et al., are about as relevant as some past heroes of the All American Football Conference, in terms of present-day value. The Steelers will not sniff another Super Bowl in the near future, for an obvious and one would think, to you, a familiar reason:

The only living dynasty in the NFL, the New England Patriots.

Thanks for the laugh though,

And in about 5-10 years, the same argument can be made for your Pats. They won a few Superbowls in the early 2000's, and good for them! Seriously....well-deserved. But we all know nothing lasts forever, even in New England. Enjoy your moment in the spotlight, the curtains will be falling sooner than you might think.

As far as the Steelers not sniffing a Superbowl in the near future....only time will tell. I'm thinking they have as good a shot as anyone...maybe even this year. 4-1 is a pretty good way to start the season.

Oh wait....are you one of those "believers" in an undefeated season for NE? Good luck with that.....

It seems like this guy came on here with good intentions...not sure considering the amount of trolls that come on here.....anyways.....shouldn't this be in another "folder"?

Funny, we've NEVER lost to the Steelers in the big games since Bellichick & Brady came here.

So, yeah, we'll see what's up on da 9th:rolleyes:

I don't think any rational Patriots fan really cares about going 19-0. Seriously, when you've been there as many times as we have, you learn the only thing that matters is the Trophy at the end.

As long as we have Bill Belichick as our coach, the curtains will remain wide-open!:D

No, you're right about the rings. But the team that deserves and get's more respect THESE DAYS are the Patriots.

Historically, the Steelers still have it over the Patriots...for now:cool:

I completely agree. The Pats have been a dominant force in the NFL in the past decade. No doubt about it. And their success is much deserved. Excellent coaching (I'm not saying I'm a BB fan, but the guy knows football!), team leadership (Brady especially), and smart off-season acquisitions have made the Pats the team they are today. I'm not a Pats hater. Just let me get that straight right now. I'm a FOOTBALL fan, and my team happens to be the Steelers, just like you all love your Pats.

I just happen to think that it would be a mistake for the Pats (or any other team for that matter) to overlook Pittsburgh this year, or any year. They may not get as much media attention as the Pats and their impressive lineup this season, but they're still a force in the NFL and have a valid shot at making an appearance in Arizona this year!

I didn't come to your site as a "troll". If you take a look at my previous posts (dating back to last fall), you'll notice that I've always respected this site and all of you as Pats fans. I expect a little friendly jabbing about my stance on the Steelers, and that's fine with me. I can take it. Unfortunately though, I'm somewhat suprised at the way I've been treated here at Patsfans.com this year, but hey...whatever.

So root for your beloved Pats. They're a great football team. I'm not trying to convert anyone here! At the end of the day, I'm STILL gonna be a Steelers fan. I think my original post clearly shows my intent for coming to these forums. Any jab at the Pats is in good fun and most likely in response to your own trash talk on me or the Steelers.

Good luck with Dallas this week. Hopefully Romo brings his A-game and at least makes it interesting. And, of course, looking forward to December 9th! :rocker:

Nah, I'd say this year's Pats have a better shot at 19-0 than any team in recent memory -- which means I'd put the odds at somewhere around 100-1 against. But of course, I would love to see it.

As for the prediction that, like the Steelers, the Pats are doomed to go the way of all franchises, right back in the pack with occasional glimmers of adequacy -- well, since you're acting frustratingly immune to smack talk, that almost certainly (one day) will happen. But to quote either Shakespeare or Tolkein or somebody, "...this is not that day."

I'd quite enjoy decades of grandeur, don't get me wrong. But for now, I'm happy with beating the Cowboys next Sunday. The Steeler win will be fun too, though, don't get me wrong. :)

Wow....maybe I DID convert someone! Glad you're starting to see things MY way. :D Look at the bright side...there's always next year.

Well played, sir! Do you have any oxy-contin you can spare, or are not Rush Limbaugh, just adept at quoting out of context? :D

Lest there be any doubt, "the Steelers win" should be read, "The Patriots' victory over the Steelers."

But you can do like Bettis, and say after the fact you won the game even when the record shows otherwise, if you so desire. :rocker:
