I'm pretty sure Ron Jaworski just compared Trent Edwards to Tom Brady. Speaking at an ESPN luncheon, he just said Edwards' performance last week against the Jets reminded him of Brady replacing Drew Bledsoe.
He said he ignored Edwards' numbers and focused on how quickly he was getting through progressions. He also loved the leadership skills Edwards has shown.
I always thought that with Losman out the Bills had a better chance of winning. Liked Edwards a lot..but I think Brady-like is a stretch..maybe in the way he reads for a rook and how he's a better leader than most rooks.

SO a new QB replaces one that is there before..and I think that when he mentions the reading and progressions and the leadership..those are just SOME of the traits Brady has..and that Jaws sees some of that in Edwards.
He never said he was the NEXT Brady...just that Edwards has some skills that Brady has. I mean when you look at it...he's also comparing Losman to Bledsoe...Losamn who has done NOTHING in Buffalo...Bledsoe was a foundation for the 90s Pats.
Don't stretch what Jaws said though please!!!! Many DO SAY xxx is the next YYYY and such..but Jaws did NOT say that...and the fact that it's NOT Jaworski's words leads to the coolumnist taking it out of context...Jaws NEVER said he's the next Brady... Geez!!!!
I thought Edwards performance reminded me of a Tom Brady type of performance for a guy off then bench replacing someone mid-game. Lots of poise for a first-timer.
That's not to say he's the "next" any more than Romo is the next Favre.

Let's not forget he played the J-E-T-S. Yes-I feel the Bills got a steal when they drafted him, and he will become a franchise QB for them, but let's not get ahead of ourselves over just ONE game against a bad team.
