Dallas the Favorite Against the Pats?

They just have the home teams as favorites there with no point spread listed. They're placeholders for now.

At least one site says so:

QB12

The site is just listing all home teams as the favorites. Probably won't be any lines out today, especially with The Cowboys still playing a game tonight. Praying that there are no injuries this evening, I'd imagine the Cowboys to be something like 5 point dogs that they were when Indy visited Irving last year.

No oddsmaker would give a point spread for a game where one of the teams hasn't played the game before it yet. When the odds come out today there will be a big "OFF" next to the Pats/Cowboys game. We won't see who is favored in that game until at least tomorrow.

My guess is the Pats will be favored. Remember that the odds makers are as interested in who they think will win as much as where they thing the money will go for the betting.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the line tip toward the Cowboys during the course of the week. They have a huge betting fanbase that's experiencing some giddy euphoria right now.

All assuming they get past the Bills healthy, of course.

I can definitely see how a legion of Cowboys fans would have big grins on their faces taking 2.5 points for a home game while playing the no-respect card the whole way.

If they look impressive tonight, I say it is either Dallas favored by 3, or it is an even line.

Not true. Local bookies put up early lines including the teams playing on Sunday & Monday night all the time. In fact at the Plaza sportsbook in Vegas a couple of years ago there was advance lines for EVERY regular season game before the season even started.

I made bets on about 6 different Patriots games in August of 2004 (and fortunately won most of them) where I thought the line could go up.

I hope dallas is favored.
