That San Francisco pick...

I dunno...San Fran is looking weak, but look at that division...even worse!!

Seattle 3-2
San Francisco 2-3
St. Louis 0-5

Freaking ugly...the only team that is any good is Seattle...and I use the word "good" loosely. San Fran is bad, but that division is pathetic...hoping for a top ten pick to stick it to the commish.

I think the Cards and the Hawks will finish stronger, and the Rams almost beat Arizona today and are extremely enigmatic. I can definetely see the San Fran finish 7-9 which would be at least a top ten pick.

On a side note, someone mentioned before when discussing this trading the San Fran pick (if it's significantly higher) to a lower pick team for their first round pick this year and next (which would essentially give us our pick that the league/media stole back). Imagine though if they hadn't lost that pick, they could have theoretically traded to have 2 first round picks 2 years in a row. Could you imagine that?

If we were to get, say, the number 8 pick, wouldn't it be cool if we were to trade down and get a high first round pick plus a second and third. Or perhaps a high first round pick plus a first round pick in the following year's draft. Knowing BB, he'll manage to rob some team blind while sticking it to the Commish.

I'd be perfectly happy with a top 15-16 pick. Plenty of talent and with a lower price tag.

I agree...I'd rather have a pick in 10-15 spot than lower where the money is a LOT more..I think the team would be better off...and the way it's going, it could be more in that group...SF will win a few games, but they are not playoff material now..so it'll be somewhere between 10 and 20...

Right now SF is 2-3, there are 9 teams with worse records and 6 tied at 2-3.....so it would be anywhere between 10-16....I know it's early but......

maybe you should pay attention to the commish's interview on that sunday night. it is their own pick

I don't get what people are saying that a mid round pick is better than a top 5. more value points with a top 5 and gives you lots of felixibility and with the way the pats pick first rounders you might be looking at a HOF like a ronnie lott type. the higher the pick the better

Niners defense looked really tough yesterday, even if the Ravens offense isn't too good. Arizona lost Reinart for at least 6 weeks. Seattle got blanked by the Steelers. St. Louis does really suck tho. Niners will probably win half their games.

I wouldn't bet on half their games. Leinart will be replaced by Warner and they are up and coming. The 9ers ahve some tough games ahead. I see the Giants beating them.

The 9ers are terrible. Their offense is just putrid. The two wins they have were both VERY lucky. I can't see them winning more than 5 or 6 games. Our pick will decently high, with a good chance at the top 10.

With Whine-art out for an extended period of time (a seemingly good thing), and the Rams looking so bad, I think the Niners will finish third, at best. They do have some talent on defense, and that can keep them in some games. I think they'll finish anywhere between 6-10 and 8-8, which is safe to say could be anywhere between six and sixteen.

I don't think anyone would give up two firsts but maybe this year's first and next year's 2nd or 3rd. It would however be rather exciting to finally get a marquee name out of college but with the way we've built up depth (which I still think is going drastically unrecognized) I won't second guess whatever they decide to do.

SF offense is offensive, I just hope they aren't like Seattle last year who won about 5 games in the last minute.

Right now I am zoning in on players in the 12-18 range, some good LBs will be available Connor, Rivers, Groves, maybe Laurinaitis, Harvey or Gholston. We will need some LBs and it looks like there are some good candidates.

I am also in favor of trading back in round 1 and picking up additional Day 1 picks. The CB class is not top heavey but appears decent in rounds 2-4 (we will need some CBs too).

LOL.......its been so long since we had a really high 1st round pick, we probably wouldn't know what to do with it (just kidding). in the salary cap world where we excel far beyond all others, belechick and pioli have tended to trade down for multiple quality players that don't carry the bonus/salary burden of an unproven top 10 rookie. that's just smart business.

Right, it's absolutely realistic depending where our pick is. If we trade down from, say, #13 to #27 then a 2009 #1 is absolutely a possibility especially as the team we'd be trading with would expect their 2009 #1 to be low as it would be a good team this year (assuming the pick is in the 20s).
