I don't understand the end of this game

win win situation

a. if u kick A FG..your up only 13 with a minute left and u gotta kickoff to their biggest threat

b. you score, up 17 and kickoff to their biggest threat

c. if u dont make it,make it, you make them go 96 yards with no timeouts left

and it's as simple as that.

With 2 minutes left, this game was clearly over. 10 point lead.

Right after the 2 minute warning, Brady throws for Watson in the endzone. We get that defensive penalty. Then it looks like instead of kneeling they are going to get Eckle some work, which is fine. Romeo feels threatened; starts calling timeouts. Then the Pats bring in their LB which I used to think was a goaline big game rarity - but probably not necessary for garbage time.

Then the Pats take a TO. Instead of kneeling or kicking a FG, they throw for the endzone on 4th down! Then Gay makes a pick and returns it?!? Then Romeo runs his team out there down to the very end to try and score.

In my opinion, they should have kneeled coming out the 2 minute warning or just run Eckle if they really wanted to get him so work. In return, I am sure the Browns would have not called their timeouts and probably kneeled themselves when they go the ball back with about 30 seconds left.

And we all missed the back to back home runs because of this nonsense.

Sounds like little baby missed his little home run and got some whiny pants.

Classless move, just like the rest of your defense.

Coming from a guy whose team has one of the most classless teammates in the league. A guy who regularly throws his teammates under the bus for his own mistakes..

You're as clueless as ever, He Ban Me.

Old hat bra. Your boys continue to exude poor sportsmanship. Cheating, banned substances, piling on, excessive celebrations. How you gonna feel when Tedy tears his ACL on a celebration?

You don't know the meaning of sportsmanship. That's clear by your wishing Bruschi to tear an ACL.

1) The Patriots did NOT cheat. If you took your head out of your arse long enough to actually LISTEN to Commissioner Goodell, you'd know that.

2) Considering that Domenic Rhodes got busted for a banned substance that he took while playing for the Colts, you really shouldn't be on your high horse about Rodney taking HGH. Very hypocritical of you.

3) Hmm.. I didn't see any flags for excessive celebration. You clearly didn't watch the game. No surprise there.

Your a moron, He Ban Me. A classless piece of garbage who really should just shut the eff up and leave because you offer absolutely NOTHING.

You think an NFL game is over with two minutes to play up 10?

Keep talking! None of this **** will matter in November when both teams take the field. I am confident that the Pats will smack the over-rated defending champs down and their season will begin to spiral from there. BTW..Nice "classy" comment hoping Tedy blows out his knee and how's that prediction of the Pats staring out 0-2 treating you?

I get so sick of accusations of poor sportsmanship at the end of games.

This is the N...F....L, not youth football. You know how to show good sportsmanship at the NFL level? You play hard and clean until the final whistle blows. That's it.

I've seen teams score 21 points in seconds. You play hard and clean until the end. If that means one teams wins by 50 points, too bad. These guys are professionals. If there is any CONCEIVABLE chance another team might pull something out of the hat, you keep your foot on their throats until the very end

This goes for Pats, Colts, and everyone. In my opinion, there is no such thing as piling on.

Don't want to get blown out and get your feelings hurt? Stop the other team from scoring.

You can call it bending the rules, I got 750K and a first rounder says it called cheating.

Rhodes?? Link please? You have proof he took it while playing for the Colts?

Never wished Bruschi blow out his knee, asked how you would feel if he did, during a stupid celebration like that.

What am I missing here. Both teams played it exactly like they should have to end the game. Browns called their time outs to try to get the ball back needing two scores. Belichick recognized that a risk reward of kicking the field goal was not good, particularly when you throw the possibility of a block and return (which nobody seems to have mentioned) into the equation. 13 is only marginally better than 10 in that situation. Either you convert and the game is over or you don't and give them a long field with zero time outs.

I thought both coaches did the things that gave their teams the best chances in that situation. Not sure what the discussion even is.

As for why to run instead of taking knee on downs 1-3, the run actually takes extra time off the clock. Maybe another 4 to 5 seconds each play, or 15 seconds total. Not much, but a lot when you're up by two scores and the other team is going to get the ball with essentially a minute.

RayClay - The Patriots had the ball up 10 with 2 minutes to play in their opponents Red Zone and with a full set of downs. So yes, I do think the game was over.

This is pathetic. Duct-taped-oven-mitts-on-your-hands pathetic. You have no purpose here in this thread, and no contributions to make. The Colts are being discussed elsewhere on this board, and your only contributions have been semi-literate, at best.

You must have more to offer than taunts and cheap insults, covered up by denials (ACL injuries? Take it outside). When you're on an opposing messageboard, you have to bring at least your B-game. Why not do so?

Hey, just adding that I don't understand the end either. 27-17 with what, less than 2 to play? Take the points and make them score two td's. You really think they'll get that thing blocked and run back? It's textbook, take the 3.

You're scared of us. That's obvious. I don't blame you.

Not really. You guys are not invinceable, you are beatable for sure. Course, so are the Colts. As the poster in the other thread said, you'll have to play better than that to beat the Boys. And I would say you'll probably have to play better than that to beat the Colts. You can be run on, you can be passed on, Moss can be stopped, Brady can be pressured, you guys can punt 6 times. Should be a great match up, it's getting close, can you tell??

Too bad you don't have SH!T. The league does and they said it wasn't cheating.

When did Rhodes get suspended? The off-season. Just after he signed with the Raiders it was announced. He signed with them just weeks into free agency.

Let me guess. Your excuse is going to be that the took them in the off weeks after the SB, right? You really are a moron.

LIAR. You most certainly DID wish Bruschi to blow his knew out. Here is your QUOTE you piece of garbage....

Dude, if it wasn't cheating, they wouldn't have done what they did. If they didn't break the rules, that heavy hand would not have come down.

Rhodes?? WTF knows when he did what he did. Certainly you don't.
