October 14th 4:15PM.

Denver to Dallas is affordable for me.

Haven't done a road game in a while.

April is not too soon to start planning.

There's no way I'm missing this one.

When do tickets go on sale?

Working on a BIG crew for this game. Ticket info is supposed to be available in May.

Does anyone know anything about the Dallas area? All I know is that it is HUGE. We've got a crew of 20-30 guys going to this game & we're trying to figure out where to stay. Where is the best nightlife/bars. Group consists of all males ages 30-50. Looking for the area that will give us the best nightlife with the least travel (ala Buckhead in Atlanta, or Gas Lamp in Sandiego, or Inner Harbour in Baltimore or the Westport section of Kansas City). We normally stay at the Embassy Suites due to their large rooms and OPEN BAR from 5-7, but there are EIGHT of them listed for the Dallas Area. Where do we want to be?

I'll be staying with my uncle who lives in Allen, a northern suburb that on a workday takes a good hour to get to Irving. Before my uncle moved out of his apartment in Addison and into a house we would stay at the Embassy Suites right next to Love Field (old airport that now only serves in-Texas, Southwest Airlines flights). Irving, as a city, is a bit of a dump compared to other areas. Downtown Dallas, Arlington, DFW International Airport, and Love Field all surround Irving. There's a huge Embassy Suites right next to DFW Airport and a huge mall and Bass Pro-Shop store is literally right next door to the massive hotel. The West End of the downtown area is famous for its night life. There are plenty of hotels in that area too (most are fancier than what you get in every other part of the metroplex though). Downtown Dallas is about 15/20 minutes away from Irving so I would probably recommend that part of town if nightlife is the second most important aspect of the trip. Keep in mind, public transportation in Texas is a joke as you might imagine. Don't expect to see many taxis.

There's usually a lot of away fans in Texas Stadium. I think it's because it's a famous stadium and the Cowboys are still a big attraction. Remember when they hosted the Steelers a couple of years ago? It seemed on the TV that half of the stadium were Steelers fans. When I went to Houston for the Pats-Texans game about a 4th of the attendees were Pats fans I'd guess. I'm expecting a similar number for the Cowboys game. I'm going to try to get tickets close to the Pats sideline like how I did in Houston. Of course being near the Pats sideline you're sitting next to more fellow Pats fans.

Hope that helps.

We've decided on the Embassy Suites Market Center. Supposed to be 3 miles to Texas Stadium, 4 miles to Downtown & the West End, and roughly 10 miles from Lower Greenville Ave. Can't beat the OPEN BAR & Free Breakfasts. Plus the rooms are nice and spacious with separate sleeping and sitting areas. We're going down Thursday-Monday. Now all I got to do is figure out where to golf on Saturday. Any suggestions?

You can start here:

Just north of DFW Airport.

or a course called Bear Creek which is near the airport.

My best friend and her DH live in a burb NE of Dallas.

I loooooooove Dallas!! I am hoping to move down there within the next 2-3 years.

Definately make sure to get some REAL Texas BBQ while you are down there, and Cantina Laredo is an awesome Mexican restaraunt.

My friends DH is a Dallas Cowboys season ticket holder, so if there is anything specific you would like me to ask him about, just post it here and I will check with him.

I used to live in Arlington, TX. Dallas is pretty cool, but Irving is kind of a nothing place. Dallas Alley is the area in town with a lot of bars, but the city is very concrete and glass.

I'm from Lubbock, Texas and my wife and I will be at the Dallas game with my not so bright Cowgirl loving brother. I'd love to meet up with some fellow Pats fans for some tailgatin' or whatever.

Go Pats!!

Gabe

I realize I started this thread, but just found out I can't make it to Dallas this season. The weekend conflicts with hunting. Sorry. Hopefully I will make it to Indy instead.

Our group is still looking for tickets. We're completely booked with air & hotel. We originally contacted Dallas months ago in regards to group sales. They told us to call back at a later date. When we called back at the later date, we were told that they were not doing group sales for THIS particular game and that we would have to go through Ticketmaster when they went on sale. We waited patiently for that day to arrive, and when it did, we went to Ticketmaster only to be informed that tickets to THIS particular Cowboys game were being restricted to TEXAS ONLY and that NO tickets would be sold to anyone who did not have a Texas address. No wonder the scalping "agencies" can charge 10 times face value for tickets. As a New Englander, you can't buy tickets through the Cowboys OR through TM, thus you are FORCED to go through these rip off companies. They know they've got you though cause Pats fans travel HARD and they WILL pay prices that many other teams fan bases would never even consider. Now it looks like we're going to have to pay around $150-$175 a ticket for UPPER LEVEL ENDZONE seats. Lower level between the 20's are going between $700-$1000 a ticket. Upper level between the 20's are around $300-$400 a ticket. Ridiculous. This isn't the Superbowl. This isn't even a PLAYOFF game! If you go to Seats.com, it shows you all the different "agencies" selling tickets and gives an "average" scalped ticket price. For the Pats/Cowboys game, the average ticket is going for $230. No other team on the Cowboys schedule even comes CLOSE to that except the Packers game, and even that's almost $30 less. The THIRD highest average ticket price for the Cowboys is the JETS on Thanksgiving, and those tickets are only averaging around $180. For teams like the Rams & Vikings coming to Dallas, those tix are less than $130. There's TONS of Pats fans going to this game. Our group has 20, and I personally know of 2 other groups with 30-40 each heading down. It may cost us some $$, but Dallas is about to become SOUTHERN FOXBORO for a few days in October! :rocker:

Too bad Parcells is out of Dallas 'cuz...

Every time a former Dallas coach assistant brings their team into TX stadium, we get STOMPED(i.e. Ditka's Bears winning 44-0 in '85 and Sean Payton's Saints 42-10 last year).

A Parcells/Belichick showdown at TX Stadium would have been interesting.

Hey, my wife and I are traveling from McAllen Tx which is 8 hours away. I would definitely love to meet up with some Pats fans up there! Lets have a pre and post game PARTAY!!!:rocker:

I live in Dallas and will be at this game! I would also like to get to meet some other Pats fans before the game and tailgate. It's been soooo long since I've last been to Texas Stadium (at least ten years) and I have never seen a Patriots game! This one looks like it should be a good one too.

i live in Denton, a college town 1 hour north of dallas....me, my dad, and my dad's friend are going to the game....its my first NFL game ever (and im 20). been a hugh pat's fan all my life....i was born in NH and lived thier 16 years....we had to pay 150$ per ticket for upper level goal line seats about 20 rows back which usually only go for about 60$.....but tis worth it to see brady, moss, welker and that high power offense and watch our d-Fence beat up Tony HOMO!!!!!:)

I posted before and I can't wait to be at this game..I'm bringing my cowgirl loving little brother though. I'm trying to see if some Pats fans can meet up somewhere like the blue lot or something.

My wife and I love to meet other people with the same love for the Pats that we have. We're from Lubbock, Texas...so we're like the only Pats fans here!

Let show Dallas that they really won't have a home game on Oct. 14th!!

I'm looking to score 2 tickets for this game. Anyone have any ideas about the best way to do that?

Also would really appreciate a hotel suggestion.

Thanks!

Have you tried StubHub? Keep in mind this game is probably one of the most expensive throughout the league.

I recommend an Embassy Suites. I know the one north of DFW airport and right next to the Bass Pro Shop doesn't have vacancy this weekend though.
