Just read this at ESPN.com. He was a big improvement to their run D in the playoffs last year. He got hurt in the Broncos game Sunday.

Man, anyone who saw that injury didn't need an ESPN report for that info ... that was a classic, "OH! His knee just exploded!"

I hate seeing that. I don't care who the guy plays for, it sucks.

Colts moonbats chime in to say his replacement is an emerging star and better than Morris anyway and in turn will make t heir defense even better than ever in....3-2-1.

Funny, but someone here would say the same about one of your guys if, let say, Bruschi was out for the year.

I'm sick of double standard. If Pats are able to replace a starter by a capable backup, so do the Colts.

And I am a Pats fan....

The Colts have twice as many players on their roster with no NFL experience as the average NFL team - and we have better depth than most - so I think you're dead wrong.

Wrong. But thanks for playing. People criticize players here all the time. Look, if AD went down I doubt anyone here would be saying Seau is an improvement.

The Colts could take their water boy and insert him for an injured Bob Sanders and they'd (you) be saying the kid has potential. It may sound like parity, but it ain't far from the truth. People here are a little more realistic when we lose one of OUR (the fact you slipped and wrote yours indicates you may not be a Pats fan) guys.

For the record, their replacement is Rocky Boiman.

To quote Astro: "Ruh-oh!"

In fairness to Handel, Rob Morris isn't exactly a gamebreaker here. The guy proved to be a better ILB than and OLB (or was it vice cersa?) but it isn't as if the team lost Freeney.

As long as Indy has that offense, the defense is going to do what it does. It wasn't as if Denver had any trouble running the ball when Morris was in there.

Every injury worsens a team, but this isn't a killer by any stretch of the imagination.

I thought it was funny since the Colts lost both starting CBs this offseason and all were heard was that it was going to actually make them better (while missing the implication that their coach is a poor decision maker for starting inferior players).

Uh...

There's a difference between replacing Bruschi with Seau and replacing Cato June with somebody who has never started an NFL game.

OK... I'll play.

You go find me a link where 1 (and you only have to find 1:D ) Pats fan was singing the praise of Monty Biesel in 2005.:bricks:

When Seau went down last year, everyone here was worried about how the defense would do. It ended up being a fatal flaw in the play-offs last year. BB took a gamble on Eric Alexander in the middle, and Peyton made him pay.

The Colts have been doing AMAZING with their replacements thus far. I don't know whether the credit goes to Dungy or Polian or both.

If I had to make a wager, I'd bet that injuries (especially to all those fast but small defensive players) will ultimately doom their season. But if the Colts can actually reach the AFC championship game with this team of relative newbies, it will be an historic accomplishment, and I'll have to give Dungy and Polian their props.

I think most of us realized their new starters were likely fine as they mostly played last year but that they had thin depth behind them . . . now we'll start to see.

Which they did this year with Keiaho replacing June. And frankly, Keiaho looks better.

Remember, Indy is the antithesis of NE. They have tremendous top 10-15 talent and then a bunch of fillers. I don't see why the loss of a couple of the filler guys seems like such a big deal.

Take away Manning or Freeney or Harrison? Big deal. Take away Mike Doss or Aaron Morehead? No big deal.

Great point. Oswlek having a great day...

He just went down, unblocked from what I saw. It's not like he was cut (ala Bryan Cox). Hope he recovers fully. I hate to see guys lose a year of their FB life and quite possibly damage their career.

If Polian went down in a heap, well, that's another matter!

Is it me, or does there seem to be a huge jump in injuries in NFL this season?
