I know I don't post here that often, but I just can't stand the networks (especially ESPN) need to discuss the 16-0 thing. There have been 4 games, come on, what a joke...even if we do beat the Cowboys and Colts on the road, with our division the way it is...can you imagine the way that Belichick will have us playing in December, for a record?? no way.

4 games!, this network has changed the NFL...hate it, can't we just enjoy the great teams and games so far and look forward to the Dallas and Indy matchups before bringing up Don Shula and champagne???

It is ridiculous and ESPN is definitely the worst offender.

If this team gets to 9-0 at the bye, I think it becomes a valid point of discussion, because the schedule is very favorable from that point on. Until then, though, it's just trying to manufacture a story.

We all agree it's a little silly but they said on MNF that we're the first team since 1920 to win the first four games each by 20 points or more - or something like that. When you do that, people are going to talk.

Pats will probably lose sometime. When they will do, there will be the extra glee because it will be said that "they" (the Patriots) were talking about going undefeated.

I agree with the OP.The undefeated talk works on my last nerve. Its 1 game at a time.I know BB will keep this team humble.I just hope us fans will remain humble as well.Don't get caught up in the media hype. We'll know what media says means absolutely nothing on game day.

Better they talk about that than the whole "Spygate" rehash. Thats what i'm sick of hearing about!

I wouldn't worry about the 16-0 crap. We'll probably lose a game down the road. The talk will stop. We'll get back to business. I'm not worrying about jinxing it or anything because I don't buy the hype.

I love the 16-0 talk because if they are talking about it's because this Patriot ball club warrants such discussion. WHat the heck is wrong with that?

Like it or not this Patriots football team is supremely talented and is being coached by perhaps the greatest coach to ever walk the sideline. When great talent and superior coaching are paired up, things such as going undefeated are talked about.

Get used to it.

I agree... little too early to talk about it right now, but hey... I don't particularly mind it.

IMO, as long as the Pats keep their focus on their opponents, nothing will get to their head... Belichick will do a nice job of keeping them out of the media and the 16-0 stuff.

It also gives them something more than HFA to play for. Let's face it, we've won the division already. Byes and Home Field are nice but in week 4 it's nice to have something else to focus winning each week on as if we were in a real division race.

Honestly, unless we have bad injuries the only way I see us losing is either playing a stinker (highly unlikely given the talent) or a team like Dallas, Indy, Pitt playing a perfect game against us - which could happen. Short of that, and with good health, I'm not sure anyone beats us.

This of it this way - our offense is as good as the Colts and our defense is a lot better plus we have much better depth.

we are going 19-0 so why not talk about it....:D

I agree, BF.

Injuries (knock on wood) are the only thing I see stopping this Patriot team. And even then maybe not .... depending on whom is injured.

Better offense after playing weak teams in 4 games. Do it for a decade then come back to me.
Nah, you'll be long gone from here after Week 9 let alone a decade. Of course, we've won 3 times the SB you have before we had all this talent.

Win a ring the refs didn't hand to you and then come back to the board.

Yeah... because the Colts sure have played some impressive teams... give me a break.

Polian will just change the rules again

First people talking 16-0, forget this team has not played a good defense yet.
The Beat up Bengals were giving PATs some difficulties ... especially when their defense
could get pressure on Brady. Their thin D tired out and died as the game went on.
I will be very interested to see how PATs offense works against the
defense of the Cowboys and Colts.

On the other hand, if PATs go 12 or 13 games without a defeat you can't
tell me the players will not want to go for the 16 at all cost.
What's BB going to say ... forget it ... I'm resting the starters for the
playoffs??? I bet that would go over well with this team.
