Oh F-ing relax. Just cut it with this crap. He was close to being activated, they probably just decided they didn't need to risk it.

Cut what? He is supposed to be a young strong running back. Seems like kind of a china doll to me. Just saying.

Yeah, if needed he would play. BB always deactivates dinged up players.

hey mr. chicken little the red sox start wed. go away and leave us alone

Why? because I dared to question the durability of a guy who does not carry a full load, and always seems to be dinged up. It is fair critasism. Fall in line sheep.

I like Maroney just as much as the next guy. However I do think he is kinda injury proned.

Steven Jackson isnt strong either. hes 230 pound and hes missed a game already..will miss next week again. hes a china doll too

same with Cadillac Williams. torn patelar tendon? what a *****

Frank Gore with a hand injury..same with Alexander

Addai..bruised ribs. gimme a break

all these rbs are such china dolls. they get hurt..wtf is going on?

(sarcasm incase u cant tell)

injuries are bad luck. doesnt have much to do with how strong u are. look at Vernon Davis..hes extremely strong and hes been hurt again.

Close to being activated? What, did they write the first half of his first name on the active line up sheet, then use white out? Did they have him put his thigh pads on, but then stop him when he got to the shoulders? How does one get "close to activated"?

You would have a good point if Maroney actually ran the ball as many times as the guys mentioned for big yardage numbers. He has been rather banged up for a guy who has been in the leauge for a year and some change, and is yet to run the ball 25 plus times a game on a regular basis.

Maroney out?? OH GOD!! NO NO NO!!!!

what will we do NOW????

gee....I guess we'll just have to THROW THE BALL EVEN MORE TO RANDY MOSS and hope for the best

injuries dont have anything to do with how many times u carried the ball. its not like i listed Larry Johnson.

just cuz u carry the ball 100 times and another carried it 300..doesnt mean the 100 carry guy isnt less likely to get hurt. its not that their bodies are worn down. hes not breaking a bone. leg injuries are usually bad luck. He hurt his groin..he probably would've played if Bengals had a good D or if they played Rudi, Brooks

if u pull a muscle..thats nto because your weak or because u've taken too many hits.

its not like Maroneygot hit so many itmes and breaks a bone or gets hurt every game

anyone can take a hit and get hurt. its all luck.

more carries means higher chance of getting hit and hurt.

think about it. concussions happen how? a blow to the head. is that because the player is weak? no. a torn ACL..look at Harrison. he got taken out at the knee.

i had a sprained shoulder last year..because i took a hit from a facemask to the open spot of my shoulder pads.

toughness/muscle would probably be constant body shots..guys like Corey Dillon who were power guys..or the Jerome Bettis's etc.

Damn. I previously chastised a fellow poster's prediction that he wasn't going to play. I stand corrected, and apologize!! I think that this is siding on the side of caution; groins, when bad, can be season ending injuries. I'd hope that it isn't serious, more of an "it's a long-season" type scratch.

Although, it must be said, this kid can't stay on the field thus far in his brief career.

IMO, Sammy will get 15-22 carries. . . .

Its the truth and no one wants to hear it. Comparing guys like Steve Jackson and Gore to Maroney is silly. They are HORSES who have much more chance of injury becuse they actually carry the ball a lot.

Maroney has all the talent in the world. He needs to stay healthy.

think of young players who got hurt rather early

-Vernon Davis. last yr and this
-Cadillac Williams since he came in
-David Pollack with that neck/spine injury
-Kevin Everret
-Chad Jackson
-Calvin Johnson missed a game already

i can go on

its all luck. how u land, where u get hit, how u get hit, when, etc

injuries happen all the time..Brady is probably hurt somewhere(besides that shoulder which has him probable for last 5 years)

i bet every NFL player has some little injury wether its reported or not.

No, it is because you guys always panic when ever anythign is not perfect. You all had Moss being cut because he "couldn't practice" in the exhibition season. He couldn't "stay healthy," either.

The team is 4-0, running on all cylinders, and you really have to be the biggest pessimist in the world to start panicking now.

It isn't a big deal if every player doesn't play. It isn't a bad thing to be so deep as to be able to substitute healthy players for a dinged up one.

Chill. It will all be good.

The poster who called him a china doll brought up a topic myself and others had worried about all off season on Maroney.....he is not the most durable back around and yes, the number of carries does have a huge impact on injuries....doh!

All Pats fans hope he ends up OK, and Bellicheck does hold players out for dings as lessons learned from previous seasons.

The point is, the fact that Maroney is out or dinged up after 3 games should come as a surprise to absolutely nobody who follows the Pats....except those who choose to wear blinders when it comes to this RB.

The pickup of Morris is looking better all the time, and I wasn't real impressed by it when it happened.

Free Ricky "Reefer" Williams!!!

Free Ricky "Reefer" Williams!!!

how funny would it be if hes reinstated and we pick him up?

jeez. i would've taken Ricky a long time ago over many players..but then he got high.
