Mangenius?

Re: Mangenuis?

D'Brickshaw Ferguson has been a bust so far, terrible pick by Mangenius last year, lots of playmakers available to select and it has backfired picking D'Brick so far, he has shown me nothing.

I remember laughing about this pick on draft day. Fourth overall, ouch. Nothing like passing on Vernon David, Leinart, Ngata, AJ Hawk, etc.

Re: Mangenuis?

I posted the following on today's game thread at JetsInsider.com ..." When does the genius part of Mangenius kick in"... which got me banned for three days

P.S. It often helps to spell the word GENIUS correctly if you want to be taken seriously :)

How about the "Man" part of Mangenius?

Re: Mangenuis?

That's a pretty good point the Pats were still a 4-3 team in 01 when we won the first Super Bowl because the personnel weren't right to play a 3-4. Maybe Rat can only copy what he's seen and cannot create.
The Patriots attempt at the 3-4 defense didn't work out so well in 2002.

Fast forward to 2008... ManJudas is fired as the HC of the NYJ and can't get a job in the NFL because everyone knows he'll rat them out first chance he gets

Belichick, in an amazing show of compassion, takes pity on ManJudas and gives him his old job back - as a fat ball boy.

Oh come on Joe, we can do so much better...

Give him a job in advance scouting... breaking down tape!

Or one of the official "coach's" vidieographers taping the practices, and games.

It's a blast scrolling through The Jest message board. I never post on them but it's great reading their horror stories.

Re: Mangenuis?

Maybe we should extend McDaniels and give him a raise before the Rats want to interview him for their empty HC position.
Can't do it, an assistant can always move up to a head coach's position even if they're under contract. I would think with Mangini as their example, no Belichick assistant would take a position with another team in the division while Belichick's still around.

The Pats ran primarily a 4-3 defense in 2002. Belichick knew we didn't have the pieces for a 3-4 which he basically realized in the first quarter of the 2001 season. He did try using the 3-4 a little more as the 2002 season went along, but he didn't switch to a 3-4 base until 2003.

One of the ways we prevented Romeo & Charlie from leaving sooner was we paid them like head coaches. That keeps good coordinators around for a little while longer than they otherwise would. They'd eventually leave anyways as they probably want to get the chance to get the recognition of being the main guy.

I'm not advocating we do this with McDaniels, especially since his leaving to become a HC in a couple of years might coincide with Weis getting fired from ND (and we know Weis is more than capable of leading the offense to a superbowl)

BTW, the reason the Rat runs a 3-4 is because 3-4 was the only formation on the laptop he stole, and he's incapable of creating his own plays.

For that matter, has it been discovered how he even got the Jet's job when during his one and only season as a DC, his play calling duties were taken away from him?

Whats weird is that we are joking around about this but it might be somewhat true. I remember last years playoffs when we played the Rats, the commentators were saying that Rats are deploying a similar defense to what BB did in SB against the Rams. Ratgina probably did steal BB's laptop and thats all hes got is BBs old plays! What a loser!

Re: Mangenuis?

i love how one of the Jets fans is like "Mangini is not dumb he will make some major moves this weekend" Its interesting cause I just so happen to know what the rat is planning to do

1: Put house on Market
2: Change name to Rod Rust
3: Start calling all Highschools in the area seeing if they need a D coach
4: Start seriously thinking about going back to working at McDonalds

Those moves are pretty major

How about writing a book. "My years with Bill Belichick":singing:

Mangenius?????????

no...no no no

Ratmoron

he's a PROVEN stool pigeon

he's no genius

Ratgini, Stooliemongoloid, Ratmoron...whatever

he should use Crudington's right arm to blow his nose on and dry his eyes

That's because as soon as Tedy went down....they couldn't stop the run.

I imagine the conversation went something like this:

Mike Tannenbaum: So, you're the defensive coordinator for the Patriots?

EM: Erm, yes.

MT: And what exactly do you do as a DC that would qualify you for a head coaching position?

EM: Well, um, I get water for the players, and I bring towels, and - HEY, LOOK AT THESE!!

MT: OOhh, Super Bowl rings!!! How'd you get those??

EM: Videota- I mean, uhh, fair and square! Yep!

MT: You're hired.

Except Terry Bradway was the GM who hired Mangini. Mangini and Tannebaum mounted a coup about a month later. Mangini backstabbed Bradway long before he backstabbed Belichick.

Heh, thanks, I didn't remember that Bradway was GM at the time. Wasn't Tannenbaum some VP or other at the time?
