And, he was improving (slowly). Dilfer looked more like a statue today than Drew Bledsoe in a Cowboys uni. The 49ers look like 2004 again. Bad for the Bay Area, but good for that draft pick.I think they sucked with him anyways so it dont matter much there still a below .500 team in my opinion.
Nothing on ESPN.com, KNBR.com, CBSsports.com yet, but I heard it on 49ers postgame radio, KNBR, San Francisco.you have a link saying it's separated?
They have two wins, some bad opponents and a respectable defense, they'll win enough to not be TERRIBLE. Now, if they were 0-4 right now like they could be that would be different. We're looking at 8-8 best case for them I think. We'll trade their pick for a 1st in '09
... and a 2nd in '08.
SF's first pick in '08
will just be too conjectural ... and too expensive.
John McEnroe: "You CAN'T be SERIOUS!!!"I'm betting that Matt Cassel is traded to Chicago for a 2nd rounder or higher. I'm saying Chicago because of the obvious need and BB relationship with The Chicago GM

Nobody is going to give a second round pick for Matt Cassell.
they gave a 2nd rounder for matt schaub... i'd say chicago is depserate.
Right, but Matt Schaub at least had a couple of NFL starts on his resume and had looked decent. Matt Cassell didn't even start in college. So, unless Brady gets hurt (and I am sure nobody here wants that to happen) and Cassell comes in and plays well, I stand by my previous opinion.they gave a 2nd rounder for matt schaub... i'd say chicago is depserate.

The math is simple.
Matt Schaub: 2004 3rd Rd Pick + 2 good 2005 games = 2007 and 2008 2nd round picks.
Matt Cassel: 2005 7th Rd Pick + 1 decent 2005 game = not a 2nd round pick.
Thank you.ya great logic....
Tom Brady: 2000 6th Rd Pick + ~100 great regular/post season games = many 1st round pickswhere you're drafted determines your value... tell that to brady
