...every Super Bowl win is special, but if the Patriots win this year it would be an exceptional story of overcoming adversity and personnel loss.

All of these things have happened since the Patriots beat the Eagles in 2004.

Tom Brady became a father, which would challenge anyone's focus and amount of team dedication.

Bill Belichick went through a divorce, lost Charlie Weis, Romeo Crennell, and Eric Mangini, and is now the most scorned coach in the NFL. Belichick has also lost his father, Steve.

The Patriots have lost the heart and soul of their SB defenses in Ty Law and Willie McGinest.

Rodney Harrison has missed significant playing time, his career in question, over the last three seasons.

Junior Seau retired, then came out of retirement, with a final chance to win it all.

Tedy Bruschi suffered a stroke, recovered, and is still playing football.

A key cog in the Patriots dynasty, Adam Vinatieri, went to the Patriots biggest rival, the Colts.

The personnel loss can't be overstated. The Patriots played a full season with below average receivers after losing Deion Branch and David Givens. In addition they've lost Daniel Graham and the defensive players already mentioned.

The Patriots two biggest rivals, the Colts and Steelers, have won Super Bowls in the last two seasons.

Role players from previous Super Bowl teams have stepped in to replace bigtime leaders: Asante Samuel, Ty Warren, Vince Wilfork, Eugene Wilson.

The entire organization has been question, scored, humiliated, and attacked by virtually every media member and opponent, for having a cameraman on the sideline.

Marquise Hill tragically passed away in the 2007 offseason.

Randy Moss' career has essentially ended, along with his reputation, and has now been revived.

Ben Watson was injured during the '04 season and has become the full-time tight end.

If anyone in the media thinks this team didn't have anything to prove even before cameragate, they are grossly mistaken. This is a team that is very hungry for a championship, and I believe a victory this year would be the sweetest to date.

16 games away, relax.

IIB, as a fellow Pats fan, I admire your dedication and zeal. And, don't' get me wrong, I love the Pats, but I have to tell you, most of the things on your list are either things that aren't that big a deal(many of us have become fathers...lol...and lived to tell the tale) or are things every organization has to deal with. The Bruschi stroke and the Hill loss are tough, but that is about it.

I was just about to say virtually the exact same thing... some of the things on that list are not exactly hardships, but the Bruschi stroke and tragic death of Hill certainly are. I also would consider Seau's broken arm last year to be another difficulty it took a lot of guts and determination to overcome.

I'm just worried about finding the next thing to worry about.

You all know what the most special SB is right ........ the next one.....and to make it even more special we will go 19-0
