the one from Brady to Moss vs the Bills.....

what was better the throw or the catch?

I say the throw because of how perfectly it was placed on the sideline where the DB had no chance and it led Moss right into the endzone.

IMO the play was one of the most perfect connections I have seen.

Perfect throw. Perfect catch.

I honestly can't decide. I think they're about on par. I also don't think people have given Brady enough credit for that throw. It reallly was perfect.

Moss baited the d-back to jump too soon, making him think that the ball was going to be a little shorter than it actually was, knowing full well that with his 6-5 frame he was easily going to be able to reel it in. I say catch, but nothing against the throw.

Hard choice! Brady put the ball exactly where it needed to be but Moss did a good job getting position and made a great catch

I saw a post earlier this week about this catch and I agree with that poster:

Moss could have positioned himself closer to the sideline and made a more natural over the shoulder catch. The fact that he had to reach to the side and forward but still had room by the sideline leads me to believe that he set himself up so only he would have a play on the ball. I'm not sure but it seems like most receivers would just run right under the ball, making it easier for them to catch.

Moss literally may be the only WR in the NFL that would have made that catch. There's a handful of QBs who could've made that throw.

2 superstar players that are in their early 30's and understand the game. Who cares what Moss' 40 time is? He has the best hands of any WR I've ever seen. When the ball is in the air, he goes and gets it.

Randy might run a 4.5 in practice, but in the game he's running 4.2-3.With his hands and veteren awareness, he's the perfect compliment to a QB with an injured shoulder.

Who needs Stickum when you've got Moss' hands?!

And who cares which of the two between throw and catch were better. It's a play I'll not get tired of watching any time soon. The more I watch it, the more amazed I am by both the throw and the catch.

[writing Competition Committee to outlaw Moss' hands]

:agree: It's like deciding between the cheese or the sauce on a perfect slice of pizza. You gotta have 'em both.

Harmonic convergence of perfect throw and catch. We will see many of these.

It was a perfect catch and a perfect throw, but to be perfectly honest, I still prefer the Brady to Branch 60 plus yarder in the AFCCG against the Steelers, because of the importance of the game, etc. Branch caught that ball directly over the head, on a dead run, and of course, TB dropped in right in there as soft as a snowflake.

But, Brady and Moss are just getting started, so I for one am content to give them a little more time :)

I read this week that Heath Evans was quoted as saying that he thought it was one of the most impressive throws he had ever seen.

From his perspective apparently it was a much harder throw than it looked but the hair stood up on the back of my neck when Moss caught it and took it in for the TD.

It was a great catch! Randy pulled it from over the out of bounds line (to his right) and caught the ball with one hand. Watch the replay....his left hand never touches the ball until after he crosses the endzone.

Randy Moss is a freak! And now he's a Patriot!

What about the other 45 yard catch Moss had during the Bills game. Why didnt he just sprint down the sidelines after he caught the pass instead of cutting back to the middle? I've replayed that on the HD TiVo a few times and he had a clear path to the endzone. Maybe he was just winded??

Actually the best play of the year thus far was the play action TD Moss and Brady had in the first game. Now that was as good as it gets.

Which begs the question "Is Moss a better receiver than Brady is a QB?

Answer? Absolutely NOT!

Statistics are the only barometer that can be used and Brady stands out far above his peers in statistics AND accomplishments (i.e. # of game winning drives) while Moss was on his way to similar accomplishments until he virtually took the last 2 years off.

But who cares since they both play for the Patriots?

Without question, the BEST pass & catch between Brady & Moss was the one against the Chargers where Brady threw a perfectly timed pass as Moss split 2 defenders at full speed into the end zone.

That one will be tough to beat....ever!

It's 50-50 QB and WR........... perfect throw, perfect catch. This combo has already produced a minimum of 3-4 amazing plays. Let's not forget Moss's 1st TD against Buffalo. Moss was draped by the back and Brady had about a 6 inch window that he feed it into.

These two will be amazing together.

When I saw that play, I was thinking the exact same thing. Oh well, we won the game, and if it was a mistake, I'm sure Belichick will point it out to Moss.

Randy Moss may have the best ball skills I've ever seen. He's got good speed, great size, runs good routs, but the thing that makes him great is his skill when the ball is in the air. He just positions himself perfectly, has the quickest snatch when he catches it, and just generally makes it so that only he can catch the ball. It's remarkable how good he is at it. It's the foundation of what makes him a great player, but I bet it takes a lot of concentration, which is part of why he disappears when he plays on sucky teams with crappy QBs.
