Let me be on record as saying that i'm a fan of Chad Johnson and the way he talks trash... it's funny and it's usually not mean spirited and he means it in jest most of the time. However, in this case, i hope he opens his mouth on our corners, just as a little motivation, ya know? :D

I hope he doesn't. I like Chad the receiver, I dislike Chad the showman.
I think that some of the **** Chad talks actually DOES inspire opposing DB's to step up their game, or alternatively, want to put the wood on him.

Well, after lurking on a couple Bengals forums, Bengals *fans* certainly haven't started to talk trash:

99.99999% chance that we'll be 1-3, going into the buy week! Not to mention that we'll also be in last place in the div.

This team is in SHAMBLES.

200 percent chance that we will be 1-3 after net Monday night

Pats 38
Bengals 20

Pats 41
Bengals 24

Simply put, the Patriots are a better team.

I almost forget what it's like to go into a game with basically no hope that the Pats will win. Man, are we spoiled these days...

My usual stomping grounds.

Chad Johnson's is usually good natured. Houshmandzadeh, on the other hand, is a moron and I hope the Pats haven't forgotten what he said after the Bengals lost last year; something along the lines of "What do they have that we don't have, cause it's certainly not talent."

Chad got utterly demolished last year by Russel when he played for Cleveland after some of his usual stupid antics.
Needed stitches in his chin and got a concussion. I'd say that's laying the wood on someone.

Haha, definitely NSFW.

RE: poor special teams and injuries to teamers.

"Next thing you're probably going to say is they are playing poorly on special teams because most of them have mother issues, or small ****s. Apparently some of you find it easier to swallow bull**** excuses instead of facing the bigger problems at hand that cannot be solved overnight. Enjoy your state of denial while you can, because you won't be able to ignore the truth much longer."

How about this for non-trash talk ... unless it's clever reverse psychology to trap the Pats ...

QUOTE:

Dear Patriots,

We forfeit. After careful analysis, we have reached the conclusion that we stand to gain nothing from playing you aside from more injuries. Therefore, we elect to take the inevitable loss and have 3 weeks off to heal our wounded. During this time we will also build some sort of arena where the DBs will be chased by pumas in order to make them faster. Only their speed can save them from being torn apart and eaten alive. Hopefully that is the motivation they need.

You are welcome to videotape our defensive signals, but we should warn you that very few, if any, of our players know what the signals mean. Essentially our defensive scheme works out to be "Brownian motion," a concept from physics in which particles merely vibrate in place. We feel that it would, in toto, be a waste of resources on your part.

That is all for now. We hope to see you in the playoffs (year unknown)!

Your pen pal,

The Bengals

P.S. No, the DB Puma Death Pit will not have a roof on it, so we hope it doesn't rain.

awesome!!!!!!!!

Wait, didn't Palmer diss us at his press conference after we beat them soundly?

Yes we are spoiled these days but I don't feel bad because 1-15 wasn't that long ago.

Thank you Kraft, Drew, Parcells, BB, Brady and everyone else

Yeah, I know. My wife is spoiled. She started watching the Pats in mid-2001. My son had gone off to college and she felt bad my watching the games by myself. It was almost a year before she saw them lose a game. I try to explain what it is like being on the wrong side of a 16 1/2 point spread, but I guess you have to be there (hope she doesn't see that for a loooooong time).

The Bengals and the Bengals fans know that their defense is suspect and won't do much trash talking

Johnson gives the Bengals the equivilent of Randy Moss, and don't think that our Defense doesn't know it - so there'll be little trash talking from our side as well

Haha, definitely NSFW.

NO, we are actually VERY injured. Moreso than your usual NFL team at this point. I know, I know, the good teams (like yours) play through them.
But our entire LB corps is wiped out right now. Only ONE starter left standing.
We started an LB (Dhani Jones) against Seattle that we only signed three days before the game.
Our defense and ST's are in desperation meltdown mode.
Not good news against the Pats, but hopefully our offense can finally make a difference and carry the day.

Oh, and I think you will remember the name "Ahmad Brooks" after this game, even if we lose.
I am not a trash talker, never have been, grew up a Skins fan in the 1970's an 1980's, migrated to Cincy after my Army service was up in 1994 and been a fan of a loser ever since.
It's been only recently that we have become competitive, thanks to #9.
But I am SOOOOO tired of the way our team finds miraculous ways to implode and lose each and every week.
Kimo Von Oelhoffen notwithstanding.

Last year, Douchemandzade rolled his eyes in an NFL network segment and flat said the Pats lack talent after the Pats flat beat them.
He couldn't believe the Bengals could lose to such a team.
Anybody remember that?

That was hilarious!

Especially the part in bold

So now a player isn't allowed to have pride in defeat? Housh is a good, tough, prideful player.
Nobody likes to lose.
