So, what are Bengals Fans thinking about the game?

I said in another thread that I think this game will have the Pats confront the first really above-average unit they've seen yet: the Bengals offense. I'm interested to see if they can dominate on the opposition on that side of the ball as thoroughly as they've dominated every other area of each game.

That said, there's no way the Bengals can stop the Patriots offense, so the Pats will still toy with the Bengals overall. But at least it may have some drama to it instead of watching the Patriots stomp around the field on offense and defense.

Not that I'm complainin' ... :eat1:

Strangely, I think our defense will show up big for this game, as they did against the Ravens, especially if Ahmad Brooks gets back into the lineup at MLB. He is a beast.

This to me is something of a trap game for the Patriots. They're rolling along like a machine, stomping opponents...they may overlook the Bengals just enough to keep things interesting.

Plus, the don't allow video cameras into PBS....

:scared:

This will be a good test for our secondary. Should be an entertaining game with a lot of scoring. Although, I could also see the Pats trying to slow the game down with a lot of running and keeping the ball as much as possible!

Good luck to all and wishes for an injury-free game for both sides!

Hear, hear! The Bengals cannot afford ANY more injuries, and I never wish injuries on anyone. Although it might be particularly helpful if Brady could catch a non-life threatening, 24 hour stomach flu bug at about 12 Noon on Monday...

Don't overlook these guys. We should be worried. Brady won't have a second chance to get into a rhythm like he did with the Bills. If we start off like we did on sunday, the Bengals offense will be way less forgiving. I hope we run away with this one but I'm taking nothing for granted.

Come to www.cincybengals.com and take part in any discussion you want.
Just keep the smack in the smack forum and you can talk about anything you want.
We even have a Pats fan on staff. Really. PatriotRon is mod.
You misunderstood me dude, I meant I wish the Pats had a haven such as that. No moronic Steeler fans, no idiot Colt fans, No whiny Charger fans. Just good old intelligent Pats fans. ( Well, the ones who aren't also Dead Sox fans. ;) )

Pats could lose in a shoot-out -- you never know how the ball will bounce or some ST play.

Pats will NOT lose by "overlooking" the Bengals. Many of us Pats fans had this game flagged as one of the toughest games, along with at Indy, at Baltimore, and SD.

Well, we keep our trolls in the smack section or they get vacations right away. We have fans from all over the league making a home at our place. Even the cool steeler fans(there are a few) would rather hang with us than steeleraddicts or steelerfever.
We also have a huge arcade and many vBookie events to entertain you.

Any Bengals fans who think we're looking past them are sadly mistaken... BB himself has too much respect for that offense

Still - how odd it is to see two teams' fans respecting what each brings to the table - and while most fans would be idiots not to be frightend of the Brady/Moss, Brady/Welker combination, that sure hasn't prevented other team fans from talking smack

So let's give each fans' camp credit on this one

The Ravens offense and the Patriots offense rate a bit differently on the challenge scale. I stick to saying that the Bengals just won't be able to do enough against the Pats offense to make a real game of it.

As for the trap game, I don't think so. The Bengals still have a reputation as a solid team that can do some damage, especially on offense. And it's not like the Patriots are building up to that big Browns rivalry the week after ... the Browns, though, that could be a trap game between a Monday nighter on the road and the Cowboys the following week.

I think it's possible the Bengals can make things interesting for a while by scoring some points, and it is in Cincy, which makes a difference, but the Patriots are just too good for the Bengals to handle right now, imo. Anything from a fairly comfortable (but not too big a spread) Pats win to a blowout wouldn't surprise me. No knock on the Bengals in that. It's just that this Patriots team is as impressive a football team as I've seen in a long time. Frankly, keeping the tape on Tom Brady's ankles through the entire game would rate as a moral victory about now.

I'll second that. I never can understand why fans of opposing teams act so badly when visiting other team's homes, whether it be in cyberspace or at their stadiums. The converse is also true.
It's one thing to give a visiting fan some good natured ribbing...it's entirely another to dump beer on them, direct profanity-laced tirades at them, etc.

Agreed. I have had a couple of disrespectful comments directed towards me in the thread where I said Corey "wife beater" Dillon and Randy "the egomaniac" were thugs. But hey, it's just my opinion. No need to attack a person for an opinion. But some people just don't like to hear that about thier team.
Other than those two, you're team is full of great individuals that can wear stripes anytime. I'ld be glad to have a Vrabel or Harrison on my team.

I totally agree on your assessment of the Ravens offense versus the Pats. However, it is unreasonable to believe that the Patriots will go undefeated, despite how good they have looked, but the Jets and the Bills aren't really a good measuring stick either, and the Chargers just look astonishingly lost.
So that said, the Bengals at home on MNF after two nailbiting losses have as good a chance as any team of beating the Patriots.
The homer in me says they will (because they need the win so badly), the realist in me says they won't.
It's a good thing that they actually play the games instead of determining the outcomes on paper and stat sheets.

Yeah, it's unreasonable to expect a team to go undefeated. And there's basically no chance that the Patriots can go through every game without a legit chance of defeat during the course of at least a few of them. I just can only think of a handful of teams with that chance, and the Bengals aren't on that list. A team will have to be solid on both sides of the ball and very good on one of them to beat the Patriots. I could be wrong, but that's why we're on a message board: to give our opinion.

The Patriots have looked great. The Bengals are realing right now. Injuries have wiped out the Linebacker position for us and our Special Teams has to be the most pathetic ST in the NFL.

I have no I idea what to expect from our team on MNF, but I do expect it to be entertaining. I'm not predicting a win or loss, but I do expect this game to come down to the end.

Here's hoping for an injury free game!

Oh, I wasn't slamming your opinion or anything. Just putting a Bengal-esque spin on it!
And if any of you guys are making the trip to the Nati for the game, have a good time...PBS is a pretty sweet stadium.
