OT: Bummer for Graham

Yea, I think that Kyle Brady is a huge benifit. That catch he made yesterday was pretty sweet too!

There was a lot of talk, seemingly from Graham about being incorrectly utilized - well that is what I remember, but it could have been generated by the frick'n media so who knows?

Looking forward, I think that the pats are doing ok. Kyle Brady is a beast. And he was in for a ton of plays yesterday, did you see that?

Go read what Shanahan was saying about Graham last week. The Broncos are loving Graham so far. This is a case where a tight end tried to make a diving catch but couldn't hold onto the ball after he hit the ground.

He was man enough to accept responsibility but unfortunately for him, it happened before. The Redskins game in '03 (last loss before the long winning streak) ended on a 4th down drop by Graham at the Skins 38 yard line or so with less than minute left..with a ball that IIRC was catchable.

David Graham dropped a beautiful pass from Jay Cutler, and the change of possesion set up a chippy field goal for the Jaguars, who went on to take a nine-point lead that held up for the win.

One of his reasons for going to Denver was he would have more pass catching opportunities. He did not want to be just a blocker. No catches yesterday for a 3 games total of 4 recs for 33 yards (0 Tds). Meanwhile, Benjamin Watson has 9 catches for 75 yards (3 Tds).

Brady blocks well enough to save us a HUGE amount of money over Grambo, and we have other people to catch the ball on the team who have MUCH softer hands than Grambo.

I like Grambo as a person. And I am glad as hell that he dropped the ball as a Donkey.

How was going for it on fourth down so questionable? I think it was a legit play call. Suppose the worst: Punt then 3 runs up the middle by opposition, then an ensuing punt. Broncos would get the ball back with about 1 minute left on the clock (more if they used timeouts -- I don't know if they had any, though). If they got a first down, game over.

It's a gamble, betting your defense create a 3 and out PLUS your offense can score in under two minutes, or gamble than you can get 4 yards. I personally know which I would take.

I agree completely. Graham was not known for his hands...The reason we all liked him so much was b/c of his blocking...which is the same thing Brady gives us.

Once or twice a year he'd make a great catch and ramble through the defense like a wild bull. We traded up for him to do that once or twice a game and catch the easy ones, which he often didn't.

Blocking tight ends aren't expensive and don't require a first round pick.

With Watson and Thomas being better receivers, he was our blocking tight end.

I'm generally in the pro-Grahambo camp, but that's a strong argument on the other side, especially the part I italicized.

I always liked his effort and salivated over the few awesome YAC expeditions where he shed tacklers like they were children.

But when it comes time for the big contract, he wasn't an offensive force in year 5 any more than year 1, so you have to question if the potential will be reached.

Too much money at stake.
