Saying on SC that the Steelers would give the Pats and Colts fits because they can get after the QB. Has he watched the Pats play this year?

He might want to make that statement after the Steelers play someone other than the Browns, Bills, and Niners.

Yeah, the Steelers have had a great deal of success against the Pats - what are they 1-4 against Belichick's Pats?

I think that he is right. The only way to stop offenses like Indy and New England is pressuring the quaterback. That is one thing the Steelers do very well.

well its his opinion...nothing wrong with it and quite frankly we have beaten teams a combined 2-7. We are very good but need to prove more IMO. And **** lebeau does come after QB's ,as compared to what we saw from the last 3 games.

Have to disagree. It's all about Indy, NE, and Pitt (again).

They are doing what good teams should do against those teams, blow them out. Right now they look like the 2nd or 3rd best team in the AFC, depending on how you feel about Indy.

Not sure what is so outrageous about this statement?

And a way to stop the Steelers is by buying Rofflesburger a new Harley and putting him on the highway.

Woops.

It's not an outrageous statement. Teams that have gotten to Brady have given him problems. Having said that, nobody has been able to really pressure Brady so far this season. The blocking has been terrific.

It's a perfectly reasonable point he's making, I just think it rings hollow because Hoge said it, and over the years he's proven himself to be both a HUGE Pats-hater and an even bigger Stillers homer - no objectivity whatsoever. Also, he seems "Keebler-ish" to me, the little F-ing elf.

What is so outrageous is the part where he said "it will give them fits". Yes the Steelers will put more pressure on Brady then he's seen so far, but what is one of Brady's best qualities? Reading blitzes and avoiding pressure.

I only have a problem with the "fits" part of the quote.

for the other poster, it was a Suzuki Hayabusa, not a Harley.

Well that is fine. It's a play on words if you ask me. They are very similar to SD's defense. Just not as good in the front 7 (but comparible) and much better in the secondary. They won't give up on the blitz as easily as SD did. I think they might be the only team that could keep the Pats under 30 at this point and put up enough points to keep themselves in the game. Parker is very good, Hamburgler has a very solid TE in Miller and two good receivers. They are the most balanced team in the AFC after New England.

So, IMO the Steelers right now look like the team that has the best chance of beating us. But a lot can and will happen between now and December.

Relax, if the worst thing we have to complain about this evening is someone declaring that a team that we don't play until December will give us "Fits", well, then life is pretty good. :eat3:

I guess we'll see week 14.

sportcasters gotta create controversey to get people to watch them and be better than the next caster
