Brady's throws this year are UNFRICKIN believable. Best and most consistent I've ever seen any quarterback ever play.

What on EARTH happened to him?

Moss? That's just my guess, though.

He finally has Deep Threat to throw to

We all finally understand how GREAT the guy is. I mean we already knew it, but let me put it this way.

His number one receiver from last year didn't even make the team this year. He's got the most weapons he's ever had, and the results are staggering.

INCREDIBLE!

He's HEALTHY. People forget that prior to the start of last season he'd had surgery for a sports hernia.

The announcers stressed during the game that they were impressed about Brady tossing a medicine ball around and how so much of the power of the throw is generated by the core.

The man took a team with Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gaffney as his WR's to within a minute of a Championship.
He took teams with Troy Brown, David Patton,Jermaine Wiggins, Deion Branch and David Givens to 3 Super Bowl Titles.
The best QB in the NFL now has weapons he has NEVER had before. Nothing happened to him, hes just the best, and now he can truly show it.

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

He has long been this good except for:

A. The accuracy on his deep throws
B. Occasional brain farts, especially in third quarters with big leads

Three games into the season, it seems both of those are behind him. Let's hope it holds up.

Moss, of course, makes a huge difference on A. I hope the experience of losing a playoff game two years running makes a difference on B.

Exactly. I think it's true that he's healthier than he's been in awhile, but Moss and Welker are possibly THE best at the roles they play, and the ripple effect is astonishing and encompassing. Also, the OL has played together for awhile now (Neal's injury notwithstanding) and I gotta think that's been helpful, too, given how much time and room #12 has to throw.

And many of us have been making the case for a long time that accurate deep throws are largely the result of having a WR who ca track down the long ball. I saw multiple times last year when Gaffney and Caldwell would get bumped off their route just a hair while the ball was in the air. A single wrong little move can make it look like you are 5 to 10 yards off your intended target.

If you ever watched the QB skills competition you'd see even the best QBs have a very hard time hitting a target way downfield. It's a very hard thing to do. You need WRs who can adjust to the ball.

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

Just imagine what Brady could have done the last 6 years if he had this talented a WR corpse. So far Brady has been godlike this season. Compare his numbers now to what Manning usual does, and I believe that is a good comparison. In the previous 6 years Brady has been playing with a bunch of practice squad WR while Manning had elite. Now we get to see what Brady can do when he has WR as good/better than Manning.

What happened to him all of a sudden?? Maybe he is good because he is now a father?

Having quality receivers and time to throw to them helps a lot.

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

Brady has the perfect storm of pieces falling into place around him. The o-line, TEs, and RBs have been amazing in keeping pressure off of him which has been a problem on and off for a large portion of the last few years. His WR corp has been upgraded exponentially. Welker and Moss are the best receiving duo he has had in his career by far. The running duo of Maroney and Morris has provided as good of a running game as he has ever had except for maybe 2004, but they may eclipse that when everything is said and done.

I think this is the year Brady gets his league MVP trophy and many people in the media will be saying that if he had a legitimate stud WR his entire career like Manning had Harrison, the comparisons between the two would be be a joke.

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

I just seen him on NFL and you can just tell how happy he is to have a receiver like Moss. All I can say is Its about time!

I certainly HOPE that turns out to be the most unfortunate typo of the week ...

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

This is the best I have ever seen a QB play for three games. Yes, he has great receivers, but his accuracy has never been this good. He has had difficulty with th elong ball in the past, but that throw to Moss was a thing of beauty. On teh slant, Moss was alsso covered, and he simply put it in the only 2-3 inches he had. Awsome.

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

I'd put the lion's share of the improvement on A) the play of Randy Moss, and B) the effect of Randy Moss.

Everything loosens up when you have Randy pencilled in for 1-2 TDs. You gonna single cover him? No? Well, then, you better have a shutdown corner. A real one. And then we might finally get to see Stallworth playing his role (or Gaffney, as is beginning to look more likely.)

But look at his completion percentage and rating the last few weeks... and put that together with Moss's presence. We've all talked about how he makes it look easy, but think about where those balls go if you have no Randy. I'm especially thinking of the long TD yesterday.

Remember Reche last year? Loved the guy. Did the very best with what/who he is. But face it, he has trouble catching balls thrown right in his numbers. No way he makes that ESP-guided one-handed catch in stride Randy made yesterday.

It's Brady's job to put it only where his guy can catch it - and he's pretty good at it, even w/bad receivers. Never really a horrendous TD/INT ratio in his career. But with a guy like Moss around, even those borderline throws become "brilliant" tosses by Brady.

Anyway, gotta go to work now... I don't see him breaking Satan Manning's single season record, but it's obviously going to be his best year ever, barring catastrophic injury.

Just feels real good right now to be a Pats fan.

PS - maybe BB only thought he was getting other teams' signals, and he was getting the decoys? would that be funny or what?

THATS A JOKE...

later,

PFnV

Re: Sure, Randy's Awesome... but how bout that Brady?

I guess we now know why Dante Culpepper was the most accurate QB in the league when he was playing with Moss.

Brady is so good, he took the Pats to the AFCCG with Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell. I believe the Brady vs. Manning debate is just about take off, again. Brady's numbers right now are off the chart, not even Manning can say that and he's (Manning) had his recievers for 6 years or so.

Can anyone imagine what the Brady-Moss connection is going to be like towards the middle to end of the year?

I would say that we are seeing the best QB/WR combo in the league!

I watched the game and all of the highlights with a permanent smile. Nothing like seeing Brady throw long and watching Moss effortlessly haul it in for a TD over 1,2,or 3 defenders.

I agree with you PFnV, it just feels good to be a Pats fan!
