its actually 16.5 and I can remember the Colts in 2006 (If I remember correctly) were 18 point favorites against the Texans early in the year week 2 or 3.

Any one who has seen BB coach for any amount of time, knows that he goes out of his way to NOT run up the score, unlike say Tony Dungy.

He wants to win comfortably, and would rather run the clock with a run game when he has the lead, rather than take chances and try to roll it up.

He wants to train his players in playing with POISE in tight situations. You will have those situations against good clubs in the playoffs. You need to practice to excel in such situations.

He does not want to provide any ammunition for the next time he faces the opponent by rubbing it in. BB thinks ahead.

That's why the Pats will not cover the 16.5 UNLESS the Bills absolutely lay down. The Pats will probably rush for 250 yards. More probably, a 24-10 score is more likely.

Except when they play the jets later this year. My money says BB will do everything he can to embarass manjudas

I agree that BB will use the running game if they get a comfortable lead, but they will still mix in the passing game a bit though. If the Bills secondary doesn't have a good day, then even if Brady is limiting his attempts, he will still probably throw 3TD purely because of the speed and talent of our WR. I don't see how we score under 35 points. The running game should get us at least 1 or 2 TD and the passing game should get us at least 3TD.

You mean the Pats "act like they've been there before," to quote social philosopher Philip Rivers? :D

So you're saying the D and STs will be taking the game off? :)

Oh no, I was just talking offensively. The D/ST (minus FG) will probably score 1-2TD.

whats with this little dig at donte give him a real shot.....

"Yeah, Donte Stallworth may be a stiff. "from the article

I think that philosophy may go into hibernation in the second Jets game. When BB get pi**ed, he lets things go. I'm reminded of the Titans game last year when Bobby Wade injured Rodney. Had that not happened as well as other questionable hits, I don't think you would have seen Vinnie T. passing for a TD with a minute left. I honestly believe that BB will want to leave a message ( one that is heard and felt without any ambiguity) to Mangini. Hanging 55 on the Jets should get that message across clearly.

I think we also creamed Buffalo 31-0 in a meaningless last game of the year in 2003. That was in direct contrast to the 31-0 thrashing they placed on us the first game of the year.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Jets game is going to be uggggly.

This is great, Bills can play the disrespect card. Hopefully the Pats aren't looking pas this game.

55. Meh. The Pats have hung 56 on the JEST before. Make it 63. :D

That game was actually for the one seed in the AFC, which was not locked up yet. NE was 13-2 going into week 17, and Kansas City was 12-3. The Chiefs had the (then woeful) Bears at home and any tiebreaker over the Patriots should they both wind up 13-3. The Pats rolled in the first half to a 28-0 lead, before easing off the gas a little bit in the second (Brady nearly got his knee blown out in the second half of that game, and in fact, might not have been able to play had they played a Wild Card game that year).

Having said all that, the Pats DID send their first string defense to thwart a goalline chance for the Bills and preserve the shutout. So I wouldnt be surprised to see the Jets score run up juussssttt a little bit ;)
