NFL update

Here is an update on the NFL's investigation into the Patriots videotaping procedures:

"The Patriots have fully cooperated and complied with the requirements of the commissioner’s decision," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello relayed via email.

"All tapes, documents and other records relating to this matter were turned over to the league office and destroyed, and the Patriots have certified in writing that no copies or other records exist. League policies on in-game video taping and audio communication will continue to be closely monitored and strictly enforced with all 32 teams."

Aiello was also asked about allegations that the Patriots illegally placed a microphone on a defensive player to pick up the audibles of opposing quarterbacks. A report on NBC during the Patriots-Chargers game indicated that the Jets believed the Patriots had illegally placed a microphone on a defensive player.

"We have no evidence to support that claim," Aiello said.

NFL update: Pats videotaping procedures

Looks like it's over. I've personally gained a lot of respect for Reiss during these last two weeks. He is one of the few that didn't try to milk this story, unlike the Blues traveler over at the Herald.

Peace at last?

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

Well, I guess things will start getting back to normal.

Re: NFL update: Pats videotaping procedures

Excellent. Let's play football.

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

Thank god...we can FINALLY get back to playing football, instead of talking about something that quite honestly didn't have any effect on gameday.

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

I knew they didn't want that stuff to get more junk on us. It made no sense and is almost impossible to do. they just didn't want us to maintain any edge we may have gotten through the videotaping.

Nice one on the defensive miking. The Jets are just slinging around any accusation they can but you do need some evidence. Boy, I hope someone nails them for something this year.

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

Its nice to go through a few days without any mention of all of this. Now Karma needs to kick in and the NY Rats need to get busted for something. Then all of the focus on the Pats will just fade away.....

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

Just wondering, were these only tapes in regards to the Jets game or for everything they have ever taped.

Everything since BB took over in 2000

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

THANK GOD.

All those friggin' jackals gleefully reporting "this isn't over yet" can now shut up.

Pretty sure destroyed tapes=OVER.

And I love the dismissal of the miking charges.

On with the NFL season.

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

That almost sounds like it's finally over . . . I can relax a little now :)

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

Aint happenin...the league wouldnt just destroy them, theyd hand out more punishment.

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

I hope Belly didn't lie and still has his private stash at home. Man, that would suck.

Re: NFL update: Pats videotaping procedures

ok ..we have 2 threads going with this info. am so happy will post in both.

finally just football :singing:

Re: NFL league office: All Patriots tapes have been destroyed!

Well, if that was the case, there isn't anything Goodell could do. If word got out that he did that, there would still be no proff and Goodell can't get a search warrent.

NFL Statement...all tapes and notes were destroyed...

Reiss just came out with this..SHOULD be the end of it..but I wonder if Goodell is going to request that from every team OR..is that off limits?? MERGE....
