With the possibility of Neal out this week with a shoulder problem and Yates on the mend, I wonder what they will do for a backup guard?? If they are both out, is it possible to move Kaczur inside with O'Callaghan at tackle?? Just wondering what their options are with both injured. Hochstein is fine, but they need a backup just in case.
I KNOW they also have Connoly who is on the PSqd, but I was just hoping they could do something without a roster move.
And again, this is a worst case scenarion with both Neal and Yates out and that may NOT be the case.

I imagine Kaczur at RG and O'Callaghan would be the disaster plan.

Hochstien is a more than capable replacement at RG. Is he hurt or something? He was supposed to start last week, but Yates got the call.

BTW another great move by the Pats, paying Yates more than twice the PS salary last year, so he would stick around.

It was a "just in case" question.

I agree, but wouldn't that leave us with zero backups for 2 guard positions? Not much of a shadow roster there either, with Mruczkowski on the Dolphins last I checked.

We could always sign Mike Elgin, he's on the Jets practice squad.

Based on the thread title, when I first red this I was afraid you were experiencing a problem with armpit odor.

Hopefully it has nothing to do with this

I think you're right. In lieu of signing a guard, I bet first option is to move Kaczur inside. Half the rookie scouting reports had him as a pro guard anyways.

Now draftees Elgin & Oldenberg (signed with the Jets) are gone! When will the poaching end?

I hated Right Guard.

I switched to Speed Stick Irish Spring scent and I haven't had any problems since.

I thought I saw Hochstein in there at guard at times.

yes...so him and Mankins..but if either gets injured...that is the problem with Neal and Yates possibly out...THESE are teh types of problems CoachB has in getting teh team prepared and making roster moves.

With both Neal and Yates questionable...it looks like this problem MAY rear it's head...AND I can only assume that if both are inactive..that Britt plays...and what would happen is that Kaczur moved to guard..and Britt OR O'Callahan move to tackle...no roster move..so this looks like what they will do if any interior linemen are injured...unless they make a move tomorrow..

I would guess Hochstein at RG with O'Callaghan as the backup OT/3rd TE.

You beat me to the punch! I was going to say that I think its funny that we will have a right guard problem at gillette!
