On NFLN tonight: Brian Billick says his complaint about the Jest cheating by mimicking snap signals on defense was directed at the officials, not at Manjudas. "Eric does not deserve the grief he's been getting from this," Billick said.

Also, Manjudas was shown at his press conference, saying he phoned Billick to discuss things and emphasized that he NEVER would tell his players to draw the offense offsides by interfering with the QB's snap signals.

The suggestion that Billick was targeting Tubby Ratfink in defense of BB and the NFL coaching fraternity apparently was premature.

Hate the Ravens so Billick can go fly a kite.

Like your Avatar but me thinks Fred took a few too many shots to the head.:D

This is like when a lawyer asks a witness an inflammatory question.

Objections are raised and the lawyer retracts, but the point was made.

Billick made his point.

I get your comparison, but you understand this doesn't actually happen in actual courtrooms, right? Only in television ones.

Not necessarily. Maybe in some way Billick's "Eric doesn't deserve the grief he's been getting from this" is a comment on the crap BB has been taking as well. Billick is basically saying, "this is how we deal with things as adults, Mangina", and part of dealing with it as an adult means you don't try and tear down other coaches. I think Billick is sending a message to Mangina that he shouldn't send messages...

In some weird way, this reminds me of one of my favorite Arrested Development episodes....

Michael: So you taught me a lesson not to teach lessons?

George, Sr.: (Sighs.) It was my last lesson.

Fred's always been like that. He was my brother-in-law's roomate at BC and with the Bills.

Fred would like your home address so he can come over and visit for a little 'football' talk.

Excellent. I'll rest my case now.:D

So what we just learned is the Rat has no control over his players. His players risk penalty by illegally simulating the snap count without regard to what their coach thinks.

Well, either that or the Manrat is lying.

Well we already know Goodell's heart is with the Jest. He was probably warned to back off. :(

oh no....does that mean that Vince McMahon is going to be the next comish?

He tried that already, remember?

Yeah, like the players do this all by themselves, learning the opposing QB's cadence and mimicking it, all without any help or even knowledge of the coaching staff.

Yeah, right.

I so hope the Dolphins win this weekend. I know I have earned seven years in Purgatory for wishing the Dolphins well. I just hope they come though fro me and win, and I don't suffer fseven years for naught.

This is positively how I read it too. He's letting Mangini know "we as coaches don't do that", and he's watching Belichick's back. It was an awesome apology and showed Mangini what he should do next. Mangini looked very nervous in that interview. Still, I think BB set him up for the whole thing. This is soooo cool.

i'd invite him over but I'd have to get out my plasic face guard. I think Fred's a spitter like a certain Pitt coach. lol

So Mangini called Billick to say that HE would NEVER tell his players to do that, basically throwing his players under the bus...?

LOL! What a rat fink! Can't you hear him telling Kendall. "You'd better be under the next bus outa here!".

Good analogy!
