I love hockey, I grew up in Mass playing it and watched it for most of my life. But I can't understand how anyone has been able to actually pay money into this ownerships pocket for what they've done to this once proud franchise.
They have absolutely ruined it, bent over and took a dump on it.

I would never buy merchandise, pay for a ticket, purchase NHL Center ice. I am a fan of Bruins lore but to be looked upon from other franchises like the Sharks as laughing stocks is not for me. It's pitiful to see some of the players that came and went through this organization and to realize had we kept atleast a couple we would of competed for a Cup or two.

I'm suprised there is even 1 apologist fan for that front office.

ya, the ownership and GM destroyed my favorite Bruins teams, the ones with......

Joe Thornton
Sergei Samsonov
Glenn Murray
Brian Rolston

... that would be a great corp group to build a team around, and now we only have one of those guys (Glenn Murray) being surrounded by a bunch of nobodies

I'm not a Bruins fan but watch most of their games this year. I know what you mean. Noone will ever get me to understand why the Bruins made some of the moves they made. Some are just absolutley ridiculous. Like giving Thornton away for free(prettty much). Its to bad because Thomas played good enough net to make the playoffs if he had a team around him.

Don't forget we had Bill Guerrin for a short while too but didn't want to reward him either. This franchise is a disaster. I loathe our owner.

Used to be a huge fan in the Bobby Orr days, but the game has changed significantly and does not look now like it used to be.. it sucks pure and simple, too much emphasis on skating and finesse and too little on the physical part of the game.

Used to go to the see the RI Reds, now there was hockey at its purest, used to have chicken wire to stop the puck... no glass for those bad boys, saw players fight with fans, fans fight with fans, no helmets, no teeth and no brains. Now there was a game.

Part of being a fan is not leaving the building until the game is over. Many seasons I watched the Pats lose to the biggest losers in the NFL, and make terrible trades, lead the league in penalties etc. Hang in there, things change. I sat/stood in the old Garden as a boy and saw #4 go the length of the ice, and score a goal. I am still waiting for the right changes. I was sad to see Joe T. go, and Guerrin before, and Allison before. It is a great game, and the recent changes are improving it. US style pro hockey has been more about hooking, grabbing, fighting than skating. The more the game changes to Canadian/Euro style open ice, passing and skating skills the better. Real fans hang in there, dont just show up for winning seasons. The franchise is a disaster, but that leaves only one direction to go. I'll see you at the game.

I stopped watching the NHL the day the Jets left Winnipeg. Now I quasi watch the Canucks.

And it took a owner change for this to happen for the pats, if Jacobs owned the patriots we would be lucky to have a conference title never mind championships! I simply blame all the ******s left that spend 150 dollars a ticket to go see this train wreck every season! You fans are keeping this ownership intact because it still is a profit for Jacobs. I'm just going to continue to hope that Jacobs might die off some year and his son will get hit by a bus or something, i just cant support a team that has a owner who simply does not give a @#@$ about how the product on the ice is!

Leaving ESPN for Outdoor Life Network (now called "versus") was the dumbest thing the NHL could ever have done.

The Bruins will be better this year and they definitely will be tougher. I'm a real fan of hockey so I watch regardless of how good or bad the Bruins are. Sometimes it's well worth just watching the other team ... if you really like hockey that is. There are very few of us real hockey fans out there ... I fear extinction.

I see the situation as being similar to the Browns. When the Ravens came into existence the Browns went away, for a time. When Jacobs realized that he'd still sell hot dogs and beer regardless of the product on the ice, the Bruins went away. Those guys with the big B on their sweaters aren't Bruins. I'll have a look a bit after Jacobs dies and see what's up with the kid; but in the mean time, there are no Bruins:(

I use to be a fanatic during the 70's. I wouldn't miss a game. I'd sit with my face a foot from the screen. Screaming and pounding my fist on the table while the Bruins played. I look jback and can't believe how crazy I was about the team. Then after Orr left I calmed down a little. I stopped watching HOCKEY in 1979. After watching the seventh game of the SCP against Montreal. I never liked the referrying in hockey but that game ended it for me. I know there are people out there who will remember this game. The Bruins were up by two goals over Mon. with just a couple of minutes to play. Montreal scored a goal. The Bruins got control of the puck and were runnking the clock out. All of a sudden theres a penalty against the B's "to many men on the ice" a replay showed a Bruin with just the very tip of his skate touching the ice the rest of his body was over the boards. The ref called it. One of the cheapest penalties i've ever seen,in any sport. Mont has the PP. Guy LaFlour comes down the right side and scores the tying goal with seconds to go in the game. It goes to OT where the Habs win the Cup IMO it was worse than Buckner. I never watched again, but I know how bad Jacobs is. I may not have watched but I keep track and until that man dies,or sells the team they will never be any good. I also agree he has ruined one of the marquee names in pro sports with what he's done to the Bruins.
