Anyone see this in the Herald this morning. Apparently the NY times have put an asterick next to the Pats on the standings column and below refers to the Pats as "caught cheating". How sad is that? Keep it coming, throw more gasoline onto the fire. More bulletin board material.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

there is a thread with anyting pertaining to spygate. as of 20 min a go :D

they should put an asterick next to jets... *they suck

I thought it was the NY Post, not the NY Times, that did that?

Either way, it's red meat to the Pats and their fans. The Jets and Giants are both headed for miserable seasons. Eli Manning is suffering the ravages of being a white quarterback in the NFL.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

That's over the top. They need one next to the Jets: *Caught Crying and making excuses

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

The news is reporting that it is the Post that is doing this.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

i guess they could also put one *jets SB champs last 5 years

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

I wouldn't put anything past a Rupert Murdoch owned paper.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

Anything to sell newspapers and gain attention.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

it's the NYPost, not the Times. the Post, on its best days, is an inferior grade of toilet paper.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

BIG difference between the NY Post and the NY Times. One of them is a respectable paper, it ain't the Post.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

Betcha Mangini wishes that this whole thing would just go away.. it has spiralled outof control, and what goes around, comes around.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

Funny...in the link they say wer have to brace ourselves for NY's anger....umm i am least bothered about this.

Re: NY Times NFL Standings!!!!!

I hope that asterisk is still there on December 10th.

I thought something was wrong when I read that the NYTimes did that. They have integrity. Wouldn't make sense.

Haha I live in NYC and I saw that in the Post this morning. I did a double take, got pissed off, and realized that we're all going to have to start letting this stuff slide off our backs. It's going to come and come and come and come.

Actually, If they are gonna play silly games, then we already know that Billick has already accused the Jets of cheating during game 2, so they need to amend the standings to read.

NY Jets - 0-2*

Seriously now, I'm sure this was some sport d*ickwap having fun, but the editor is gonna (or should) blow a gasket. There is such a thing a journalistic interity which seperates an actual newspaper from a tabloid. I know that the Post has trying to revamp it's image, particularly in these times that the NYTimes has taken huge financial hits. Goofy stunts in the Sports dept. does not help the cause.

I bet its gone within a day, and someone gets an asschewing. If not, the paper is a rag, and can never complain when people treat it as such.

No, not really. The Times isn't any better than the Post, just different target audiences. The Times has had it's share of fictional articles and plagiarism over the past few years. They still have the pretentious air of integrity, though.

My dad gets this paper to follow his fantasy stuff. I've asked him to stop but he won't....says it really helps him in his different leagues (baseball and football). He's such a huge Boston fan and I'm embarrassed that he will probably still be buying this crap even after this. :(

CT, I've known you forever, you know I love ya, man, but this is COMPLETE horsecrap. Give me a slight break. I know you love W and the GOP and you voted for him twice, but even YOU have to know this is just a RIDICULOUS comment to make.
