Does anyone have Peter King's email address ? I've always liked him but I'd like to give him a piece of my mind on this.

I sent this e-mail instead:

"Dear Dale & Holley – I have boycotted Peter King (both in print and on your show, which normally I would listen to whenever I have the chance) for his sanctimonious attacks on Bill Belichick. Because Bill Belichick didn’t change his personality and grovel to the commissioner or the rest of the NFL for being a “cheater,” Peter has mounted his high horse and taken BB to the cleaners every chance he gets. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. He acknowledges that every other team steals signals in some way, and probably 3-10 more videotape signals, yet the Pats and BB are the biggest frauds he has ever seen. Please. Tell us Peter (although I won’t be able to listen) how they gained a competitive edge not available to every other team out there and that somehow their Superbowl wins aren’t real? How about the wuppin’ they put on the Chargers when there is no way they were videoing any signals? What a jerk.

A former reader"

Peter King is dead to me now.

great Patsdeb ! you can go to weei website >then to audio vault and can listen to audio archive of king on friday...prob will have archived his interview on sat.

King's latest, for all you ready to pounce.
The NFL’s Mob Mentality
Bill Belichick broke a rule; the snitch broke the coaches’ code
By Peter King

When the Jets spotted a Patriots on-field video assistant filming their coaching signals during a Sept. 9 game at the Meadowlands, it set into motion a passion play that could have starred another North Jersey operator, Tony Soprano. By exposing the dirty secret of his former boss, Pats coach Bill Belichick, Jets coach Eric Mangini broke a long-held code that NFL coaches live by: Don’t go against the family. “If he wasn’t before, Mangini’s dead to Belichick now,” says one head coach. “What Mangini did is a disgrace. He wouldn’t be a coach in this league without Bill, and this is how he repays him.”

Commissioner Roger Goodell ruled swiftly when he found out that New England had taped defensive hand signals. He fined Belichick $500,000 and the team $250,000 and stripped the club of a high-round 2008 draft pick. It’s widely believed that New England has stolen signals in this manner for years, but officials from various clubs acknowledge that the Pats are not the only team that does it. Last week’s revelation doesn’t mean the New England dynasty is a fraud, but it does take some shine off those three Super Bowl wins.

It may seem absurd to think that if Belichick was blatantly violating an NFL rule—one reenforced by two NFL memos in the last year—the Jets should have ignored it. But last year the Lions and the Packers caught the Patriots taping and simply told them to stop without informing the league. Unlike New York, they followed the coaching fraternity’s antisnitching code.

Just what is this code? First, don’t mess with a former colleague’s players, a tenet Mangini—who was hired by Beli_chick in 1995 and rose from _coaching-staff gofer to defensive _coordinator—violated in March 2006, just after he left New England for New York. Mangini signed free-agent linebacker Matt Chatham, whom the Patriots were trying to keep. By contrast, here’s what then Cowboys coach Bill Parcells, who needed a kicker, did that same off-_season. Though the Pats’ Adam _Vinatieri, one of the best of all time, was a free agent, Parcells let it be known that he wouldn’t touch the kicker. Why? Vinatieri was Belichick’s player, and Belichick had been a defensive assistant and coordinator under Parcells. In another example, one coach told SI last week about allowing an assistant to leave with a year remaining on his contract to join another team. There was one proviso: The team hiring the assistant couldn’t sign the free agents of the team he left. On the third day of the next free-agency period, a prime free agent from the assistant’s old team was signed by his new team. The assistant’s former boss confronted him and said, “I’m going to tell everyone in the league I know what a no-good son of a ***** you are.”

Second, don’t mess with a former colleague’s coaches. When onetime Parcells assistant Chris Palmer got the Browns’ head job in 1999, he knew that a recommendation from Parcells, then the Jets’ coach, had helped. Though Palmer wanted to hire Jets line coach Romeo Crennel to be his defensive coordinator, Palmer didn’t try to get him.

Third, don’t snitch. The most violated rule in the NFL is the antitampering rule: Before free agency begins in March, contact between teams and potential free agents is prohibited. Yet several G.M.’s routinely ignore the directive, and just as many decry the advantage they take—though not loudly enough to get the offenders in trouble.

It’s doubtful that teams’ attempts to get an edge by covert methods will end with the Patriots’ embarrassment. (As one coach says, the two cameras the NFL allows teams to use for game tape could be pointed to capture coaching signals between plays.) But there was hope around the league that the penalties Goodell levied against New England would halt the illegal use of technology. “I’m not sure sports are supposed to be about who can cheat the best,” Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan says. “I should be worrying about how to beat a team, not spending hours figuring out how to disguise what I’m doing. I hope this gets us back to football the way it should be.”

I won't be able to listen because I am boycotting him! I can't stand to hear any more about this, frankly, so I am tuning out.

Did Peter King NOT watch any of the three SBs the Pats won? Did he not note that the Pats had two score leads in ALL THREE GAMES and that the OPPOSING TEAM SCORED LATE IN THOSE GAMES to make all those wins "3 pt wins"? Maybe the commissioner should look at the Rams, Panthers and Eagles tapes during their SB runs. After all, both the Rams and Panthers sure seemed to "figure out" the Pats defense after being held in check for most of the game. Check the Colts' tapes as well - they sure figured out the Pats defense after being shut out for most of the first half

Someone should ask Dale/Holley to ask King why stealing signals with the human eye/binoculars, cameras not on the sideline is okay but using an efficient method (i.e. camera on the sideline) to steal signals is "cheating". Also, have them ask Peter why what the Dolphins did last year (stole signals and used it to win a game) is not cheating but it is when the Pats "do the same" simply because they acquired the signals by using a sideline camera.

Cameragate has certainly revealed just how many "journalists" lack spines, objectivity and integrity.

watching the games and actually thinking if his bs applies to them is not productive to mr king. waste of time...wouldnt suit his agenda.

hollley should get the big show crew to come too! that would be a blast....although i bet king would back off...just have smerlas growl at him

oh yes the reason i started this thread is because through holley..maybe we can get our voices heard....maybe holley will be better prepared and put king in a spot

Not sure you are aware of this, but D & H have a fantasy football league, and one of the "owners" is Peter King. Every week a randomly chosen guest is partnered with one of the owners for this weeks picks, you could partner with Terry Francona, Holley, Arnold or even Peter King.. ineteresting the relationship with all of these guys, used to respect what King wrote, now think he has descended to a very low level.. there are 32 teams Peter, pay attention to some other crap.

say it aint so!!!!!

didnt know that

and holley does love his fantasy league

yes you are right Danny boy my bad..on the middlle of page is a place you can email...but he only answers once a week ..it seems

Ask him if he thinks Tom Brady is a liar.

Funny thing is I bet King puts a spin on it to make himself look good. My brother, who travels all over the county, says that he hears King in one market say one thing and in the next market say something else..

Honestly we really dont' know if they cheated... We hope they didn't but we really don't know.. But to say this is the biggest scandal when you have the 49ers, cowboys and broncos all cheat to win SB's (manipulated the salary cap), that is going WAY OVER BOARD..

King's latest, for all you ready to pounce.

I already knew the past bad blood was because the snitch stole Chatham (not that he's worth a dime in this league) and attempted to drive the price up on Branch. He also recruited players on the flight back after the Denver playoff loss.

He's a rat....he's a snitch....and he will be run out of town by mid season next year.
