NFL Network reports Goodell is requesting tapes dating back to 2000, this would of course be the start of the dynasty.

I saw this on NFL Network so I don't have a URL check NFL.com.

In my opinion. The reason for this is not to continue reaming the Patriots. Its to vindicate the Patriots dynasty and protect the integrity of the NFL.

I could of course be wrong, but I would expect a statement from Goodell saying the videotape was an isolated incident and was not a factor in the Patriots success dating back to 2000.

That would put this all to rest finally.

Anything other than this would be bad for the NFL.

I assume it's 2000 as that was Belichick's first year. If it's just tapes all the same as what we've seen there's probably nothing much on them to cause problems. I hate this f*cking guy though. Badell sucks. He should have NFL security go through every other teams' videos too.

I think he should do a complete audit of all 32 teams. Get all their tapes etc. And expose just how wide spread and common place this has been. If his intent is really to put an end to this then get to the bottom of it and and end it. Instead of just using the our team as the "Patsies". Let's not forget the tape that got this all started was confiscated 8 minutes into the Jest game. The NFL was prepared to do this regardless of Mangina.

Is he seriously going to go over the tapes and notes for 100+ games?
The season will be over by then. I mean, it took him a week for 15 minutes of video last time.

Badell!!!

I love it. So simple, yet so precise.

I think that he should start confiscating the hard drives of random fans at games. Like, there should be a platoon of Badell people that just come up and swoosh you away and take you to your home and just rip the dern hard-drive out.

This guy is really a dandy.

I heard Goodell is going to make the Patriots give their playbook to all 31 teams and are now going to be required to tell the other team which play they are going to run... lol... Goodell is creating his own sh!tstorm. lol

agreed. in fact I wrote Goodell an email the other night asking for that very thing. He owes it to his consumers (the fans) and the integrity of the games rich history to answer the "questions". To end this shadow of doubt about the championships, no matter what the outcome.

Unless they find something different, I think this issue is dead. They're collecting up the tapes because they don't want BB to use them, they're not doing it because they are wondering if it only happened for one game. I'm sure Bill said he has been doing it.

I think this is just a case of the NFL collecting the material.

Is this ever going to end??????Let move on and prove it on the field.....BE LOUD AND PROUD.....GO PATS!!!!:rocker:

Only the Jets care because it makes them feel good about not winning any games. :D

haha so true.

I think its important to Kraft that the authenticity of the Superbowls be protected.

Kraft is in a bit of a tug of war. On one hand he's trying to uphold the integrity of the franchise and on the other hand he wants the Patriots to continue being the elite team of the NFL. I'm sure Kraft understands some moral boundaries must be crossed to continue success. If Kraft were to force Belichick's hand into only signing players who have impeccable records outside the game and get in the way of the Moss, Stallworth, Meriweather etc signings you think we would be talking about the Patriots being undefeated right now? =)

Why do "fans" of football think they know the Patriots organization so well when I can point to contridictions in media reports every article?

The Pats have always sought to maximize their return on the dollar. That's it. If you behave and perform, they keep you. If you don't, they weigh that against your value. Everything else is a media fabrication.

I don't think Kraft is torn at all. I'm convinced he sees it for what it is, a witch hunt. The problem with the ball boy coach is that he's messing with NFL dollars now. The owners don't like that and this is going to come to an end very soon I suspect. I wouldn't be surprised if your ball boy coach is the one who ends up getting himself in a mess of trouble.

If Badell were to find something (which I seriously doubt) it still invalidates NOTHING until he does an equal investigation of the other teams.

IF we cheated in SB 36, 38, 39 - who's to say the opponents didn't ?

I'm not sure that this is a good idea at all. It is in the best interest of everyone that the NFL is not thought of by the casual fan as a league of cheaters. We were blatant and took our lumps, but what Goodell really needs to do is reign in the coaches and players that have been running their mouths off. They and the media that cover them really don't seem to realize that they are kicking the gift horse in the mouth. If people lose interest in the NFL, guess who loses money and jobs? That's right...the same people who are bashing us now.

Then Goodell should ask for tapes from ALL the teams. If they take away the Pats video and notes then wouldn't that give every other team that plays the Pats an unfair advantage?

They're requesting notes too, right?

I think Kraft owns one of the largest paper companies in the world.

If he got some printing press working 24 seven copying some boiler plate scouting garbage and boxing it, he could just have a semi and a work crew fill the Comish's office up for him.:D
