"Just Shut Up" Award

On Espn radio's Mike & Mike they have a just shut up award. They give three options and the listeners vote for the one they want ot shut up.

Well this week Mike Greeberg, a Jets butt boy, put BB on that list. I thought that the media was complaining that the wasn't saying enough. Now, it "just shut up". Anything that this Jets tool can do to get the pot stirred, he will do.

I looked to see how you can vote and can't find anything, if someone has a link to the voting , please post it. Then we can flood the voting for someone else except BB.

Oh, whatever. You know, Mike & Mike has gone straight down the toilet, imo, and I felt this way before this. For one thing, it's a freakin' miracle when they both are able to even sit down and do their own show. They've become inexplicably commercial and popular and have sucked accordingly.

Greenberg probably sent a memo to the Jets fan base so they can vote early and often. BB was at 64% when I voted but good showing by Patriots fans can turn it around.

Mike Greenberg is a freaking big Jet fan, let alone a big bildo. he is also a huge Yankee fan and his bias continually shows through. Golic generally hates the Pats and always picks against them...but in this case at least on NFL live, he didn't think the whole videogate was a big deal...

I'm sure it is the goal for them and their employer. And it's nice to see them prancing around on David Letterman. I'd have no problem with this stuff if they'd, you know, show up to do their actual show more often than not.

Of course, I've listened to no sports talk radio this last week and continue to avoid it. But before, it was all I listened to and it seemed they were never doing their own show.

Well, I'm sure BB won the "award". The great irony being if BB was actually told to just shut up about this he would say, "NO PROBLEM!"

yes mike jets was devasted yesterday cause of the jets defeat yesterday. then they had interview with ditka...and he tried to geet ditka to diss BB. the only thing ditka didnt do was get up and biatch slap him.

I consider myself a pretty big mike and mike fan but they have been annoying lately.

I honestly can't remember the last time in a year that they both were on the show for an entire weak.

Also, Golic acted like the pats "cheating" was horrible on the show with Greeny, but on NFL Life with Salisbury he acted like it was no big deal.

I can't believe they would say BB should shut up. He hasn't said a godamn thing.

I haven't listened to m&m, except when dial-surfing, since the AFCC.

Greenburg is a biased, whiny, metrosexual new yorker. The mere sound of his voice irritates me.

And the rest of Baltimore AM sports radio stinks. One of the stations must be owned by the murderers (allegedly), because all their jocks talk about is them.

At least in Hershey, I could listen to WIP in Philly, esp. if I drove a couple of miles east.

My only problem with D & C, whenever I'm in NE, is that there are too many commercials. Otherwise, I think they are spot-on; but that's a statement for the political forum, I suppose.

I stopped listening to those two almost two years ago. They're too Disney for me.

I don't want to hear two people who will only disagree when it is scripted. Then again, absolutely everything is scripted. Golic could start talking about how "Hitler was misunderstood" and Greenburg would have to check his notes to see if he's supposed to agree or disagree. There is zero accountability for one's thoughts on that show.

The exact opposite (and even worse) is D&C-type shows, where everything is an argument and everything is said to incite listeners. And don't you dare disagree with them, because they'll yell louder than you. Why do I want to listen to that?

For morning radio I like is Steve Czaban's show on Fox. They don't need to follow a script and they'll catch each other when they say something stupid without yelling about it. I remember one time when Czaban was going over the pitching probables he read the name of a young stud prospect who doesn't pitch for the Yankees/Sox (someone like Homer Bailey) and derisively commented "whoever that is," to which a co-host responded "he's the top pitching prospect in baseball. Where have you been?" The host didn't get defensive, yell at, and ultimately fire the guy. He took it in stride. It's like he's an adult and a real person, two hard things to find in sports talk.
