Brady has completed 79.7% of his passes. (pretty much equal in the 2 games as well) Those are ungodly numbers, but even more incredible when you consider his yards per pass is 9.8.
Yes, it is only 2 games, but if they are any indications, Bradys #s are going to blow away anything he, or anyone else has put up.
Sure, he problably wont set yardage or TD records, because we wont throw it 600 times (we are as of now throwing 29.5 times per game, a career low for Brady) but how many time do you need to throw it when you are putting up 38 ppg?
By the way, Brady in the 2nd half this season? 18 of 19. And 7 of 7 in th e3rd quarter.
Imagine what the numbers would be if we kept on throwing when ahead?

In the second half of 2 games, Brady has thrown wth a frequency that would add up to 304 total passes all season.

The most remarkable stat?
In 2 games we have punted 2 times.

Re: Bradys Play

The all-time completion % record is 70.55%

Re: Bradys Play

it is pretty amazing and you need to factor the passes he intentionally threw away because everyone was covered. they're not many but maybe an additional percentage points

And the punt vs. The Jest was after Brady hit Welker in the middle of the chest for a first down that he dropped.

That reminds me, didn't Hanson's punt on Sunday night go for about 25 yards even though we punted from our own territory? I wonder if BB is still trying out punters.

Re: Bradys Play

Well we were always saying that Brady would put up big numbers if he had the weapons others had.

Now he has those weapons, he is kicking asses and taking names.

34 yards with good hang time. Not a very strong punt.

Re: Bradys Play

we all know Brady is the best ever. Give him real weapons and we will see what ungodly numbers he can put up. That said this pace wont keep up but it should be fun to see where it evens off at the end of the season. I imagine he will hold a few records a the end of this season.

The funny thing is his success his holding down his stats. 19 passes in the second half of 2 games? I think a reasonable expectation for a team that doesnt want to throw it every down is around 550-560 passes. That means Brady's #s are based on throwing about 85% as many passes as normal, in a relatively conservative offense. He has something like 165 in the first quarter last night. If it were a Colt-like gameplan, he would have thrown for 500.

Well, we always wondered what Brady would do with the type of weapons Manning has benefited from. I think we all know now that the results are pretty sick. Now we need to see what Manning would do with Antoine Smith as his RB and Troy Brown as hit top WR...or Reche Caldwell...!

I'm thinking by around week 6 we'll just release our punter altogether. What a watse of money

We could just have Brady do that, too (afterall, he is "the best punter on this team").

Funny thing is I have read and heard it said by fans of other teams going into this season "what will Brady's excuse be now?" ... meaning that when TB fails to put up gaudy numbers, no one can say he did not have the weapons.

This overlooks that TB is in the top 10 all time in QB rating, but while playing in mud, snow, and/or decent winds for over 1/2 his games, and has the same QB rating in a dome that Peyton does with better skill players than TB has had.

Hmmm. Now we do see what he can do.

No excuses needed.

Wow. That's just insane. Last nite was as great a clinic I've ever seen Brady put on. If you take away one overthrow of Stallworth and the tipped ball INT, he was literally perfect on every throw I can think of.

It wasn't like these guys had to make tough catches, he was putting the ball in perfect spots. That tells me that the so-called "accuracy problems" that he had last year had more to do with the wideouts than with him.

But of course, maybe it's because he had the opponents defense radio'd into his helmet before the play....:bricks:
