I know it was only one missed FG yesterday...But DO you have the same confidence in Gostkowski that you had in Adam V? I don't know that I will have that much confidence in ANY kicker again after Vinatraitor...Yeah, I know he missed several times a year as well...but in the CLUTCH games...the guy was money...I guess it will take awhile for him to establish that confidence...He is so much better than Vinny on kickoffs though...sending many into the endzone...while Vinny barely got it to the 20!

Re: Gost....

Obviously not. He has been shaky so far. Hopefully he can improve and hit some of these longer FGs.

Re: Gost....

What kind of poll is this. :bricks:

And who the hell is this other kicker you mention, I know nothing of him.

Re: Gost....

it seems as if whenever he kicks from the left side of the hashmarks he has trouble, which makes some sense when you think about it. A lefty kicker should have more trouble on the right side.

Re: Gost....

I don't have a lot of confidence in Gost right now but I didn't last year and he basically made every kick that he needed to.

Re: Gost....

I took the poll, but it's F-ing STUPID. Of COURSE we don't have "the same confidence," good Lord, it's Adam Vinatieri. Do you have the same confidence in Ellis Hobbs that you had in Ty Law at his best? Come on, get real.

The question is, "Gost has been shaky - do you have confidence in him to right the ship?" or something like that. I do. I think it'll be fine.

I am not even remotely trying to "get down" on this kid in any way. He had a good rook season last year and has been a pretty decent kicker for us. That having been said, I guess I personally don't have that same confidence in him (or probably very few other PK's in the league) that I had in Adam "the Traitor".......Hard to replace that kind of clutch kicker.....I'm sure Gost is going to be ok though.....IN BILL WE TRUST....GO PATS!!!!

Re: Gost....

Vinatieri himself missed a short field goal and a PAT the other day, too, by the way.

Re: Gost....

He has had 2 new holders as opposed to last year when Miller who was an experienced holder. It isn't all about the kicker.

until he misses a kick in the playoffs or misses a kick that costs the Pats a game im not going to worry about it.

Not yet, he did well last year in the playoffs, and i am just hoping he got off to a slow start.

He struggled at the beginning of last year too and was money in the playoffs. I am not worried yet.

Not yet. But he will get better.

his first kickoff is to the back of the opposing end zone

i f'ing love that kid and have as much confidence in him as any kicker

it isn't always about the field goals in a blow out
