We're making the kiss my you-know-what list on another thread.

How about a list of people who get that this is a rules infraction and is not a big deal (IMO, should be punished as making an unauthorized video, but not cheating and not punished as such):

Sean Salisbury
Jon Gruden
Keyshawn
Jimmy Johnson
Howie Long
Vic Carucci

Special mention for:

Mike Shanahan -- who would obviously think this is no big deal if asked
John Clayton -- when it was the Dolphins in December 2006 thought something worse was no big deal

The commentator who "gets it" is Madden.

People hate John Madden, as a overblown blowhard, but if you listen to him last night, he was right on the money...

Mike Ditka and Jimmy Johnson get it.

Tiki Barber also understood that the players still have to go out and win the game. I really dislike Barber on the whole, but he got it this one time.

Phil Simms
Boomer Esiason
Greg Gumbel
all get it and have been Patriots supporters for a long time.

ditka was good today..put mike and mike in their places..but generally he hates the pats...or is in Bill he hates?

dont forget keyshawn..he was fantastic.....putting cowturd in his place.

Greg Gumbel

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are refreshing brodcast duo... To bad we will get a crappy duo this week..

I miss the duo when Greg Gumbel was with Phil Simms. They might have been the best that I have ever heard.

Len Pasquerelli for calling Mangini a hypocrite in his Tip Sheet Notes Column.

Maybe this could get a sticky...

Phill Simms now annoys the **** of of me.

Used to really respect the guy, but I remember the first words that came out of his mouth after the first Brady/Moss hookup (Which was for 18 yards) was “Well the old Moss goes all the way with that catch…he’s certainly not the Moss of old”

Charles Barclay had Jaws back peddling.

he hates bill ...was he good today ?? iam surprised he wouldve said something +ve...maybe he has skeletons in his own closet which he doesnt want opened.

its going to be gannon this week.,you can thank your stars its not randy cross and "todd light"

Gannon was on EEI this Am and the first thing out of his mouth was "sour grapes"...so I think he understands this BS...Was a good interview...funny his teammate Tim Brown takes the opposite approach thinks everything is tarnsihed.

Tim Brown another ringless wonder. Hey Timmy, go shine your Heisman and leave discussions about real trophies to people who actually won one.

I'm so confused!!!

Why in the world are Patriot fans so fired up to defend a man that has badly deminished all the good that has been achieved over the past several years?

You can talk about the commentators but the preception of most football fans will not be changed.

Bottom line - He cheated, he got caught and there will always be a question as to the legitimacy of the Super bowl wins

Why support this guy?

This is precisely the problem. People seem to be in such a tizzy about anything that bears any resemblence to cheating, that they are unable to think clearly about this situation. The contention of the Belichick supporters is that what Belichick was busted for is far from providing a competitive advantage sufficient to have a great effect on the outcome of games either because 1) others teams often take similar liberties, or 2) videotaping provides only a limited advantage. 1 and 2 have been repeated by several commentators primarily those that were actually in the NFL as players or coaches. If these are true, then Belichick's actions would seem to be an unfortunate symptom of a league that could use some cleaning-up, but would hardly taint the legitimacy of the championships.

Therefore, the continued insistence by many to simply keep crying "but he cheated!" shows a willful refusal to actually think about this issue beyond the level at which a three year old would.
