Can this team survive without Belichick?

This run of success. It's over. Stick your head in the sand, say we'd be okay with someone else, but you're wrong.

When BB is gone, the great decline will begin. Ya think Pioli would be interested in sticking around? Maybe, maybe not. Bottom line is you can't say for sure.

I think he'd be gone, too.

I hope not but Pats football was alot of fun when wishing for that big upset when your 2-7 and still will be when we go back to the 6-10 days.

This era is mostly about the Krafts, not Belichick or Brady or Pioli. When the inevitable happens and the Krafts have to replace those three, we'll see if they really learned from the Parcells/Carroll/Greer fiasco or if they just stumbled into so fine a leader. I think that when BB retires, the Krafts have an excellent chance at finding the next innovator.

Um, yeah, but that doesn't mean I want those days revisited.

Good grief.

I think you are soon to realize that you are wrong. With our FO and the team we have, I could be the coach.

Sorry, you are wrong.

Imagine this!!! Belichick is the matermind right? Just for a moment imagine if...
1. Belichick new that we the new additions the Pats made in the off season they were favorites to win it all..
2. As everyone knows teams that are favorite to win it all tend to start believing there on hype which leads to dissapointment
3. Belichick and Kraft know that anything but the Superbowl is not acceptable
4. Belichick and Kraft orchestrated this whole fiasco so the Pats...
Could buy into us against the world again type of attitude....Incredible Belichick is just amazing.

Hey don't be mad at me for believing the Pats would not let anyone find out about anything unless there was an alterior motive.....Pats 31/Chargers 27

???????????????????????????????

THE PATRIOTS ARE

in the top three with regard to personnel in the league,

have almost all their key players under contract through the 2009 season,

have no cap issues through 2009 season,

have a fine coaching staff

have the best front office in sports

and yes, have a great head coach, who was critical in bringing us to where we are, and who instlled the system in one and all.
======================

BUT, we are here. No major changes need to be made to be in the playoffs for the next three years, the remainder of the dynasty. Kraft could simply make Scott Pioli GM and VP of Football Operations, dante or pees Interim Coach and move on. Sure, we could get Parcells or Cohwer, but it is unnecessary.

OF COURSE, this is very, very premature. I indicated late Monday or perhaps on Tuesday that we would be discussing Belichick's future within the week. I choose not to look at the insulting responses.

PERHAPS those of us in the 25 year club (fans since 1982) have a different perspective than those who have come to the team more recently, perhaps not. In my early years as a fan, tje patriots broke a streak of losing in Miami 15 years in a row (when Miami set the rules), won three away games to get to the SB to play the best team of all time. This team will survive. But much more than than, this team has what it takes to get to the SB in 2008, 2009 and/or 2010, with or without Bill Belichick as Head Coach.

Since there is no way he'll have to resign, this is a non-issue and foolish rhetoric.

You're delusional Mg. Kraft has long held that Pete Carroll would have succeeded in the NFL if he hadn't inherited the tough situation he did. Guess who your new HC would be? Remind me which retread Kraft's fallback was when Parcells tried to block his play for BB? The system could survive a year or two, but it wouldn't thrive. Belichick IS the system on both sides of the ball and in the FO. And the alternative to a caretaker like Pees trying to run it on auto pilot would be a new ego with his own system. BTW - Pioli leaves the day BB does, bank on it, and if he were to take another NFL job half the staff would follow their leader and take the ability to coach the system with them.

Thanfully Kraft is smarter than you think you are, and this is all a moot point now.
