I have been a Patriot fan my entire life and I live in Dallas, Texas. This week has been one of the longest ever as a fan. I've been getting bombarded from every angle. Everyday that I walk into work I get "New England Cheaters!" or "Some genius your coach is!". It's been brutal. Anyone else going through the same BS?

For those of you who live in Boston or the surrounding areas, what is the general opinion on the situation?

yes i live in Illinois. it's obnoxious.

I'm guessing it's pretty much just like your situation, except the people aren't as smart.

Of course I got the idiot Bronco fan at work talking smack, but shut him up pretty quickly with the salary cap fiasco during their SB run.

No one gives a crap really (boss a Colts fan, got a mix of Dallas, Houston, and Miami fans). No one's mentioned it, but I don't think they are diehards.

I've been out of the shop.
I'm sure I'll get it on Monday.

North Carolina here, I just get idiots who think that the pats are cheaters but thier belovid panthers would never steel signals.

I work with bills and jets fans and they agree that this is all crap. If you speak with REASONABLE SMART AND KNOWLEDGEABLE people, they realize there is no in game benefit and all of this is crap.

Other than a few comments at first........ mostly pleasant smiles at this point.

Trust me, most people that know me know not to get too critical of my Patriots with me. I take them pretty serious. I live squarely in Buffalo Bill territory.

btw Bills fans, are by far the least d*ckish in the AFC East (after us).

I am in Charlotte and not really hearing much !!
Most guys I work with are Not die hard football fans.
Now; if you talk Carolina BB that's another story or NASCAR.

I live in Seattle and most of the people here are set in what the media is saying that we cheated and that we're now a tainted franchise and won't even listen to the other side of the story.

dude i live in Jersey. you think you had a rough week ?

Same here. I live in NJ - I went to a dinner last night and we all talked about the match ups - hardly any interest in the spy gate stuff. They were all talking about how the Jets suck.

My line of arguing is that:
1) All the big coaches and analysts have said that they do it.
2) The fact that BB wasn't suspended is proof in itself.
3) Mangini is a rat and broke an unwritten NFL code
4) I compare it to the IMUS story - no big deal bu they had to punish him.

That should shut most of them up. I agree its another pain that we have to endure but it will pass.

Oh yea, been hearing it a plenty here in the Indy area, as you might imagine. Some of the more well balanced fans agree spying is pretty prevalant in the NFL, but BB did break the rules, plain and simple. My spirits have been dragging all week, I'm hoping for a rebound tonight.

People tried giving me an attitude, NBD I presented MO.

In your case you might mentioned that Jimmy Johnson said he did the same ting as did Barry Switzer today. Jimmy also said he had interns going through the trash in the opposing teams coaches box.

Ask if that makes the Cowboys cheaters who didn't deserve THEIR SB's in the 90's. That should end the conversation.

I'm glad other people share my frustrations with this subject. I live in North Carolina and every day I walk into work, people want flap their lips and talk smack! And there's only so much defending I can do. Why do I have a feeling we'll all be hearing about this for a long, long time....:bricks:

I have had some people messing with me, fortunately so many teams have such shady histories that I have been able to get them back on the defensive.

I had a Giant fan screwing with me.

He copied a bunch of co -workers and sent me an email that said "so that is why they win all the time".

I simply replied " It's also probably why the Giants haven't won anything sense BB left them".

I had a Steeler fan give me some crap as well. I told him to save it for someone who didn't see superbowl 40. I didn't have to even get into the whole steroid thing. Didn't need to. Aint heard crap from him sense.

Also got a Cowboy fan make a remark. I just asked him if he really thought that HGH the staff member from the Cowboys bought was really for erectile disfunction.

Other then that they have been fairly tame.

If I could, I'd buy you a beer.

I just can't wait for the game tonight and watching the Pats get back to business. :)

I know it's been a rough week for all Patriots fans, but those of us who live and work in the New York area have definitely taken it on the chin. It's been brutal.

This is how my week started. On Tuesday morning I met with our company executives and the first question out of our president's mouth was about the Patriots and the "Belicheat" thing. Unbelievable! I had to sit there and defend Belichick and the team to a bunch of Jets, Dolphins and Broncos fans!! It had to be the longest 10 minutes of my life. Interestingly enough, when you talk to people face to face about this issue, most people think it's no big deal (every team does this kind of stuff, etc).

No doubt it gives the haters even more reasons to hate, but they already hated the Pats so who cares about them anyway?

I have to say, sports talk radio in New York has been frustrating and entertaining. After Goodell handed down the punishment, Jets fans flooded the airwaves with calls saying it's not enough. Most of them wanted Belichick (or his daughter) burned at the stake for crimes against humanity. Just ridiculous stuff.

I live in VA and I did get some **** at work but not that much, it was more of a joke than anything. But I would much rather be in Boston this week because I hate when people talk **** about the Pats!

That's both hilarious and terrible. I've had to defend the Pats to my bosses as well. One guy even got me a Romo jersey telling me that there's room on the bandwagon. HA!
