Jimmy Johnson on Fox said he was told to do the same thing as a scout in KC. He said everyone does it and he thinks it doesn't help gain an advantage. Jimmy Johnson admitted to going through the other team's trash to steal gameplans.

Howie Long called most of the media and coaches who are bashing Belichick are a bunch of hypocrites.

I would like to hear more coaches, past and present, admit to what they have done.

Jimmy J is now one of my favorite people.

Thanks for having a set balls Jimmy!

PFT put the exact quote:

POSTED 12:49 p.m. EDT, September 16, 2007

PATS WERE CLEARLY CHEATING

Jay Glazer of FOX just played a portion of the video that was shot last Sunday by Pats employee Matt Estrella. The tape shows that Estrella was clearly taping the Jets' defensive signals before a play, and then panning the camera to the scoreboard, capturing the down and distance.

Reacting to the images, former Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson declared: "This is exactly how I was told to do it 18 years ago by a Kansas City Chiefs scout. . . . I tried it, I didn't think it helped us." Johnson also admitted to going through the trash in the press box to look for any notes that opposing coaches discarded.
Howie Long and Terry Bradshaw then debated the outcry regarding the fact that the Pats were caught in the act. Long thinks everyone is cheating or trying to cheat; Bradshaw argued that the fact that Belichick got caught makes the punishment and criticism fair.

obviously other media haters will conviniently ignore this.

Way to go JJ!

Re: Jimmy Johnson admits to videotaping!!

Anyone inside the business knows this a crock and an over reaction by Goodell.

Any one of them...Dungy comes to mind...that shows indignation are exactly that...hypocrites...because they have either done it or told someone under them to do it, or hired someone who is good at it for that purpose.

One has to wonder if they would come down as hard if it was any team other than the Patriots.

I doubt they would have taken a 1 away from a struggling team like the Browns or Miami. The fact that the Pats had a 1 to give should have been irrelevent. Consciously or not it was an opportunity to level the playing field.

Cowboys Super Bowls are tainted!

Just kidding. This is ridiculous.

tell it to emitt smith on ESPN. He thinks the videos may have helped the avg pats players play great ...now his own coach has done it in the past.

Anyone hear Jimmy Johnson today?

I caught a bit of the Fox NFL Sunday show, and Jimmy Johnson said that videotaping signals was nothing. He said someone from the Chiefs taught him how to, and he trie dit but he didn't understand how to do it. He also said that after home games, he would send an intern into the opposing team's coaches' box to go through the trash and keep any scouting reports, game notes, and plays that they found. The more I hear from ex-coaches and players, the more I see how much BB was setup over something so small.

Re: Anyone hear Jimmy Johnson today?

I only heard about it in the two other threads you made no effort to look for or read. Honestly, I know this is kind of a snarky reply, newbie, but do you HONESTLY think we HAVEN'T seen and/or been talking about this on a PATRIOTS MESSAGEBOARD - it happened HOURS ago.

By intern I think he meant Norv Turner.

Re: Anyone hear Jimmy Johnson today?

.

The majority media want to distract us from the real issues and focus on meaningless "scandals" that attract a lot of "ooo's" and "aaah's", but are just ways for people to think they can feel better about themselves because "everyone else is just as bad as me (or even worse)". Sick and pathetic. God help America if this continues.
