OK so now the NY Post is trying to start a rumor that Kraft my fire BB over this. The funny thing is as they write their drivel they end it with the opinion that BB will go to the giants where there will be an opening at the end of the year.

OK so you write how terrible a person BB is that he should pick up the 250K for Kraft in addition to his 500K fine but then slip in that BB will coach the Giants next year? Did the sewers in NY/NJ overflow and everyone is a rat over there now?...or is that a weasel? (are they part of the rat family?)

I think you answered your own question there. :D

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

The NY Post is basically like buying the Star or Enquirer.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Well, only in their own dreams. If Giants want BB after this scandal, why wouldn't Kraft??

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Not sure if they're trying to start a rumor as much as just speculating.

I'm also not sure if speculating on Bill not being around after the season is too far fetched either. His contract status after this year is still murky, and Mrs. Kraft was rumored to have some issues with that divorce naming him the "other man".

In all honesty I would not be shocked to see a parting of ways next year, saddened by it, but not shocked.

Maybe they're trying to make this happen so the Jets can hire Belichick... after all, it must be an incredible embarrassment to have a snitch and a rat as a head coach.

What would be hilarious is if Kraft DID IT, and then the Jets COULDN'T hire him, because they were so busy playing high and mighty.

Of course, not so funny to us. But I'm just sayin.

Naturally, the NY Post rumor will get legs this week in the real press, which has been one-sided at best about this whole affair.

Screw em. Lombardi 4, 5, and 6 should shut the lot of them up for good.

BILL YA SCREWED UP.. and you got busted, fined, and docked. ENOUGH SAID... we love ya here!

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

More great news.

How the f do they know what Kraft will do. They all said he was crazy to hire him in the first place.

If he is let go, he will just kick our asses coaching another team. And he'll be hired in about a minute.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

I thought this might have been written by Manjudas friend, Rich Cimini, but he works for the other trash paper there the Daily News..

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Fans around the entire league now hate (or at the very least dont care for) BB. Yet if you asked those fans, the majority of them for all teams, except for maybe 3 teams, would drop their coach and take BB in an instant.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

If BB leaves if won't be beacuse Kraft fired him...he'll leave because of all the BS the press is giving him.

Why would Kraft say in his statement that he is looking forward to working with BB in the future and then turn around and fire him. To me, his statement says it all..BB fu@#ed up but they're moving on.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Consider the source.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Seems the ny rags are trying to make something out of nothing. If I was Robert Kraft I would be mad about the situation. This is bad p.r. and that could harm the value of the team in the short run or even long run. But simply firing the man who is the one responsible for all the success in the first place is a stupid move. And I know Robert Kraft knows Belichick better than most people do, including the media. So he also knows Belichick's attitude to the media and demeanor better than most people. I'm sure he's already had a good conversation with Belichick about all this and made Belichick understand that he can't afford any more of these missteps.
And I'm sure that the giants would be the first team in line to hire him if Kraft would fire him. The jets already have their copy of the BB/SP tandem in place, Mangini (that means: he who keeps disappointing his mentors, in Italian) is keeping his job for now.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Why is everyone so ready to dismiss this.??? I know it probably is a rumor, but he does have a point, Kraft has worked hard to turn around the rep of this organization, and in one week it now has a huge cloud over the most succesful 6 yrs a organization has seen... Look the last 2yrs has not been kind to Belichick, personal stuff, his father, his protege , a guy he brought up from a ball boy , turns on him and now this crap... I love Bill Belichick more than anybody else, and would not anyone else coaching the Pats, but when Kraft sees what is happening, and I know he released a statement, but you have to at least start to wonder.. If its costing Kraft money , then is all the consternation worth it.. :bricks:

It's probably best to refer to statement Bob Kraft issued on the matter two nights ago. This is a paraphrase and not a direct quote, but he specifically states that he's looking forward to working with BB in the future. The question then becomes why he'd note something obvious in this statement. Seems to me that he had anticipated such rumors and has already nipped the bud. Said this, you're also free to speculate nonetheless.

Re: ny Post "rumor" Kraft may "fire BB

Because if Kraft is like most of us, Kraft would rather fire Kraft than fire BB. lol

Driving a wedge between Mr. Kraft and BB, and generating enough bad press to eventually force BB's ouster, has been the Jet gameplan since Mangini took power. If Robert goes along with it he's the biggest sucker in the league. A franchise gets a coach like BB once in its existence. To cut him loose because competitors whip up a phony frenzy is the height of folly. I don't outright dismiss this rumor. When a wealthy man accustomed to uniform praise feels publicly embarrassed, his reaction can be unpredictable. Still, nothing in R. Kraft's history suggests he is prone to a strategic error of this magnitude. He ate the humble pie the commissioner handed him in that written statement, but I have to hope that behind the scenes the wheels of retribution are turning, and weapons are being deployed against the real villains who conspired against his good name. The best weapon of all is victory on the football field, and the best man to deliver that victory is Bill Belichick.

If BB would not be our coach next year god forbid, my short list is, Gruden,Dean Pees, Charlie Weis, Nick Saban, Pat Hill, AL groh, that's about all I could think of at this time.

He did? Are you sure? His goal was to hire people that had pleasant public personnas? You sure he didn't buy franchise with the idea of turning his business investment not into a place that every loves, but into a viable, winning team that would give him a huge return on investment?

I think his goal was to turn around the rep for LOSING, its rep as the bottomfeeders of the NFL, not to have only saints working for him, and make everyone say, "What a bunch of lovable guys, the Pats are. Bunch of losers, but really nice guys."
