Why BB's reputation just went UP among fellow NFL coaches

Laughable. :blahblah:

...actually, bordering on asinine.

Our minds aren't clouded by hate, jealousy and the many tears that have been shed by your feminine players. We see the truth...we've been to the mountain top...and our eyes have seen the glory of the coming of more super bowl victories!

Take that back to the children on Chargers.com. I've been posting a lot over there, so maybe I'll post it there myself...no, I'm too sympathetic for that.

BTW, what's to stop some guy from, say, the Titans, becoming a free agent, not being a fan of Fisher's, and just saying, "Oh please, we stole signals all the time in Tennessee, here's how WE did it." Peter King says the Colts do it all the time - when do we hear from someone on Polian or the holier than thou, Mr. Kumba-effing-Ya himself, Tony Dungy?
Well, the problem as I see is that they don't equate stealing signals with cheating. They equate video-taping with cheating.

How else to explain guys who say, Sure, everyone tries to get the defensive signals, but we didn't videotape.

Marshall Faulk actually said, I'm no cheater, but I always tried to get the defensive signals.

Holgrem said, Don't tell me everyone does it, because everyone doesn't do it. He is not referring to stealing signals, but to videotaping.

THat is the thing that absolutely boggles my mind. Everyone is okay with trying to steal signals, but everyone says the Pats weren't punished enough because they cheated.

It is like the world has gone mad.

So, yeah, even if a guy leaves the Titans, he will say, Sure we tried to get the signals, but we didn't cheat.

Great Thread.
There are alot more people (coaches etc.) behind us than we think. the media and espn polls are bs.

Like Ive said many times we need to divide this county into sections.
Demographically we know who the enemy is and what they believe in.

We need to play it cool-win and this will die out.

People have always been jealous of us.

As the smoke has cleared and days have passed, more and more players/coaches are coming out in support of BB. Not all, of course, and there will still be plenty of teams who we beat that want to lean on this flimsy excuse as to why they lost - but every day the CW seems to be gathering steam, and more people are coming out of the woodwork, in support of Belichick and the fact that this has been blown WILDLY out of proportion.

It's a totally different situation - 'though in both cases someone did something wrong and in both cases both were punished, in my view overly punished compared to the "crime" - but I see this as Imus 2.0. The press going WILD with a story, and changing the outcome to outlandish proportions.

Who has come out and supported BB in any of this?

Who has come out and supported BB in any of this?

Shanny, Martz, Parcells, Madden, Keyshawn, Tike Barber, Ronde Barber, Chad Johnson and others.

Oh, and Sean Salisbury.

Attacked by a barrage of misleading and reckless media reports, BB could have easily defended himself, and protected his public rep, by revealing that EVERYBODY IN THE LEAGUE TAPES SIGNALS. Instead, he said nothing, allowed himself to be publicly humiliated, taking the flak for the whole league as a willing fall guy. He never even made a counteraccusation against the Jets, an obvious, easy argument to make given the mounting evidence gathered on this board. His silence spoke volumes to the coaching fraternity, distinguishing him starkly from Mangini. BB's silence was a more profound indication of his character than any statement he could have made, and people in the know- well, they know it.

Another brilliant effort by the Red Pony, who in my opinion has written many of the most amusing posts this week.

Oh, and Sean Salisbury.

I must say I have quite enjoyed Salisbury, he doesn't just support the Pats on this, but he literaly sneers at his peers like the progeric one Clayton, and totally dismisses their ardour and thinly disguised agenda vs Belichick.

His take, is quite literally, gimme a frigging break, this is alot of noise over nuttin but your own personal agendas, maybe just try beating the Pats on the field you frigging whiners.

I must say while there is certainly NO rivalry with the Jest, as they suck too much, and are in no way shape or form anyone that could be considered anything but a mere plaything to practise beating on, it will be fun to root against RatBoy and his crew from now on, and the " fans" that cheered their stud quaterback as he gamely limped off the field wounded, go J E S T!

Except Shanny, Parcells, Madden, Martz and others. Great call!

Listen, I agree that many coaches don't LIKE Belichick, but there are very few who don't respect him as a coach. You're delusional if you think that. Do you?

Shanahan and Belichick has had a respect for each other for a decade so that does not count. Parcells is an overrated coach who won championships because of Belichick. He ain't going to bite the hand that feeds him. Madden is senile. Mike Martz is a cheater so it's no surprise cheaters defend one another.

I seriously doubt many coaches respect him.

The anger and outrage from most current coach speak for itself. The comments say it all too.

Keyshawn and Belichick are great friends so Keyshawn won't rat unlike Mangenius.

Tiki Barber is a jackass. Nuff said.

Chad Johnson is weird.

I doubt Jets fans are that dumb to root for a quarterback to get hurt. This was a misunderstanding. They were cheering that Pennington got up on his own power. This was badly misconstrued.

Man, if you're going to come on here and just pony up RIDICULOUS counters to actually legitimate claims, don't bother. This is all stupid, baseless and feeble. At least bring something to the table.

You can't say what you can't prove. Accusing every team of video taping calls, you better have lots of proof or you look very very bad !

This week a lot of coaches weighed in without any proof. Some coaches openly speculated that Belichick stole radio signals.

Go ahead. I don't hang at that site. I'm no bandwagoner like many of the posters there... and I'm not stating my feelings out of hate, jealousy or any other emotions you want to toss my way. There hasn't been one coach, player, or executive who has come forth and defended BBs breaking of the rule. The issue isn't whether or not he cheated. Everyone knows (or at least should know) he didn't cheat, because the commissioner said as much with his punishment. Had he "cheated" he would have been suspended.

My issue with the man is his lying about the misinterpretation. Everyone knows (or should know) that he's too smart to misinterpret a clearly stated rule. So how is it noble or admirable of him to not rat out other coaches? It wouldn't help his case anyway. He knows that! More proof that the man is not stupid. More proof that there's no way he could have misunderstood the meaning of the rule that he blatantly chose to ignore.

He's a liar. he's not a rat. Big fuggin' deal. I'm sure the Chargers would jump at the chance to hire BB should he be available. It's business. Bob Kraft is a business man. BB has made Kraft's once laughable franchise a powerhouse. Who cares that he got there by any means possible. He certainly doesn't. And he doesn't give a shiit what any other coaches think of him. It's a good thing too, because from the looks of things most don't like him.

How can you say he's too smart to interpret a rule?

You can have two of the universe's smartest human beings interpret something in two different ways. Neither of them are stupid but both of them see something a different way.

It's not misinterpreting the rule, it's DIFFERENT interpretations. The commish interprets it as no video cameras on the field period. BB interpreted it as no using video cameras to help you during the game.

You are suggesting that he knew the rule he was breaking. If that were the case, he would have hid it. The guy was standing in plain view with pats credentials on the jets sideline. If BB knew it was 100% against the rules, he wouldn't have done it. PERIOD. He decided to believe his interpretation was correct, a calculated risk.

Commish's interpretation is all that matters in the end, so he takes his punishment. He is not lying, he has NO reason to.

Just like some refs interpret pass interference differently and umps interpret the strike zone different in baseball etc..

Wow, what a convincing rebuttal.

If you're not even going to BOTHER to spell out why you found the post amusing, why even reply at all?

And you wonder why no one values your presence here.

Good god man. Why can't some of you just accept the fact that THE MAN WHO YOU THOUGHT WAS INFALLIBLE GOT CAUGHT DOING SOMETHING THAT HE KNEW WAS AGAINST THE RULES????

He lied, man. It's ok. You guys will survive this. He's a great football coach. But he's a really bad liar. Sorry to had to hear that. I hope you can sleep tonight. *hits ignore button*

You don't take defeat very well ;) lol

*hits ignore button* haha

No way...I was sitting in section 315...The stadium was clearly cheering that Clemens came in and Chad was coming out. There is no question about that. I can't speak for all sections but in 315 there were many guys saying that now they could throw the ball down the field, now they had a real qb in, etc...

It all comes down to that handshake at midfield and the idea of brotherhood amongst coaches. That moment truly was a Judas selling out Jesus moment (by analogy only).

Belichick did not hide the camera. He never has.

History will not be kind to Mangini, especially amongst his peers.

Wouldn't it be something if
Brian Billick refused to shake MangiaPuke's hand after the game?

Great point....I know Mike Martz was on BB's side in this and when Andy Reid was asked about it he refused to answer.

I also have a feeling the other 30 coaches are keeping quiet because they may have an unauthorized video tape or two hanging around! :D What I am more interested is what the other 30 coaches think about Eric the Rat.....
