On FSNE last night at 10pm, Tom Curran said he thought because of the San Diego team speed, that they would win this game easily.

He said that the Bolts D would get pressure on Brady that the Jets weren't able to. It sounded like he also expected a big game from LT.

I'm disappointed to hear this because I value his opinion above many of the "experts."

So I guess we'll find out if our O line is that good or if the Jets were just that bad. Regardless, I think there will be some serious hitting going on. There is bad blood and both teams have a chip on their shoulders.

Here's hoping Tom E. Curran is wrong on this one.

Re: Curren say Chargers win easily

Most other "predictors" that I have seen have the Patriots winning outright. In a game like this there will be differences of opinions, we are talking about two very good teams.

So Tom might be right or he might be wrong, we'll know about 11:30 Sunday night.

Thats a little silly, no? Being disappointed in someone because they dont think your team is going to win?

Re: Curren say Chargers win easily

He's entitled to that opinion.

But have they gotten any faster since the last time we played them?

I know we have.

We don't have Seymour as in the last game.

But we do have Moss, Stallworth, Welker, Adalius, a healthy Maroney, BIG Kyle Brady blocking and Sammy Morris.

We are at home and we have a major league burr up our ass.

Their WR corp is depleted and was very average to begin with.

His analysis is suspect.

I forgot. We didn't have Seau either.

Re: Curren say Chargers win easily

Curran said we would lose to the Jets as well, lets take all predictions with grains of salt, for or against us.

Where did he say he was disappointed "in" Curran.

I respect Curran's opinion but, the O line did a pretty good job last time these two teams met, of keeping Brady clean. Plus Brady's quickness is well reflected in some of our new receivers this year, so it should be less likely than last year that he finds his backside planted.

Game on ole Tom-boy. Lots of us here think you are totally wrong!

GO PATS!!

lets put it this way...if Brady and the OL play poorly and lose the pundits will have a field day saying that Brady is not as good as advertised.

I for one think Brady is going to light it up and the OL is going to pound the DL of SD throughout the game.

GO PATS!

He's out of his mind to say the Chargers win easily. If the Chargers win it won't be an easy game. I think the Patriots are FAR more balanced on both sides of the ball more so then Diego. Minus Gates and LT the passing game from the Chargers is a minimal threat. If the Patriots can "contain" LT then their chances SKY ROCKET to winning. On the defensive side SanDiego is very mistake pron and the secondary DOES NOT cover well. San Diego was one of the worst teams last season picking off balls. Yes they have a pass rush and play the run well but no real ball hawks in the secondary with Tom having good recievers now might mean a high scoring game. That takes LT out of focus and puts the game in Rivers hands to put the ball up in the air. With that comes mistakes and thats how I see the game playing out.

Curran, especially with his national gig, doesn't want to come across as a homer so will routinely pick against the Pats when they play a quality opponent. Kind of like DeOssie, although he's just trying not to be like Fred ;)

His national presence has changed some of his homer mentality.. it is not sexy to pick the Pats this week.. in a couple of weeks after another NFL scandal it will be sexy again and all will be well with Tom and the rest of the pundits.

I love this part. Going out on a limb and predicting a big game out of LT?

Uh, come to think of it, LT ALWAYS has a big game against the Pats. He did last week too.

We won it last time, and anyone who saw that game will tell you it was a war. Nobody ran away with it. You can say we "should" have lost a close game instead of winning a close game, but you can't say we "should" have lost in a blowout.

You take that game, give home field to the Pats, and then account for the Pats insane offseason, and I don't see how you give the edge to the Bolts, unless you're predicting that the Pats don't answer the bell based on the adversity of this last week.

Always a distinct possibility. But certainly not one I'm betting on.

What's Reiss's rationale? He's picked against the Pats twice. I can see the Chargers maybe, but the Jets?

I never understood the manlove for Curran even when he was here. He was just a guy to me, no more no less.

Let's see how we stop the run - last year every LB was playing in a different position now they're back to their natural spots.

I said I was disappointed to hear that - not that I was disappointed in him. I still think he's one of the best when it comes to covering the Pats.

Personally, I think we win because we now have more weapons to counter their speed. If the line can give Brady any time at all, we can find some short routes and the middle open. IMO.

Does not matter what the experts say. The only thing that matters is how they play on the field. If the Patriots do get beat easily this next week will be longer then last. I can hear it now.... Brady can he win without someone telling him when a blitz is coming? Very unfair but the league has been looking for an excuse why a six round draft pick became one of the all time great QB's. Now they can say it was not there scouting that was bad but because Belichick cheated. In some people view, (not mine) Brady has to prove himself all over again. He is the player whose success is most linked to his coach. I will always hate Belichick for doing this to him.I do not think this is why Brady has won.

this is a unfair thread as his predictions are half quoted. He picked the chargers and went on to say that the rematch in the playoff will be patriots dismantling the chargers .Similar to the steelers from the 04 season.......NESN has had his piece.

I am understand bullentin material but this a little over the top.

Satz,

I am quoting what was said on FSNE last night at 10pm. I haven't seen or heard anything else from him. Evidently, you saw something I didn't. It was not intention to selectively quote him.
