Total first half points:
Patriots: 182
Opponents: 86
Total second half points:
Patriots: 188
Opponents: 174
Total Overall
Patriots: 370
Opponents: 260
Conclusions
The Patriots didn’t do perform significantly better offensively in the second half of games than in the first. The theory that the Patriots gained advantage by analyzing signal tape over halftime just doesn’t hold water statistically.
This is especially true when compared with the offensive output of the Patriots’ opponents in the second half. These opponents more than DOUBLED their total scoring in the second half of the game versus the first.
Someone may want to double check my math because I’ve been known to miscalculate.
