I saw a link to a story by Clayton titled: Patriots Got Off Easy

Now, I don't find it. Am I drunk.

Re: Another ESPN story removed

It's here:

NFL penalty for Belichick, Patriots is far too light
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?id=3018407

Basically argues that since we're so good at stockpiling picks, we already had an extra 1st and extra 3rd in 2008, whereas a suspension might have made us lose a game and thus cost us the SB (tiebreaker, etc.)

I kind of the think the Pats would easily trade the pick back for a game or two suspension. The level to which the league is spooked by his presence on the sidelines is just awe inspiring.

Why did I even want to read that? I am drunk.

Re: Another ESPN story removed

Perhaps someone should remind that a**hole of his Dolphins stealing signals story from LAST YEAR in which he's all, "That's football!!"

Stupid POS.

Re: Another ESPN story removed

And just yesterday, Egghead wrote this:

What could the punishment be?
Goodell must come down hard on this one because he clearly has evidence. ESPN has reported that Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks." That could mean a combination of a second-rounder and something else, maybe a fifth-rounder. The commissioner could push the penalty over two years, but he can't treat this lightly by just taking away a second-day draft choice. The Patriots are good. They had only two draft choices -- a first- and a second-round pick -- make the team this season. Fining them just a fourth-round choice wouldn't hurt them much.

Goodell does what he thought he would, but now it wasn't enough. Brilliant.

That little fu$ker looks like Kazoo on the Flintstones......He hates the Pats with a vengeance.....Nothing would make Kazoo happy unless BB was hanged and we had to forfeit the entire season,........F' off Kazoo.....!!!!!

Re: John Clayton's Anti-Patriot Bias is Revealed.

I know. This dumbsh*t doesn't have an email address posted, or I'd have already sent him a message calling his biased ass out.

Re: John Clayton's Anti-Patriot Bias is Revealed.

Please forward both articles to him and let him know how much of a hypocrite he is or post on a blog if he has one.

Re: John Clayton's Anti-Patriot Bias is Revealed.

What a little fu*khead.

Re: John Clayton's Anti-Patriot Bias is Revealed.

Here's a better story for all of us to read:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/070912

I did not see it posted on the main board; if anyone thinks it should have its own thread, please move it!

I enjoyed it, despite its bias...cause they're right.

Re: John Clayton's Anti-Patriot bias is revealed

aking Belichick out of one game could affect the Patriots chances of making the playoffs. For example, he's still coaching Sunday's game against the Patriots

lol what a moron

Re: Another ESPN story removed

As for Clayton...hypocrisy is ugly. Do all these writers have brain rot? Are they goldfish? Do they really have no recollection of what they have said, and what stands they have taken?

Rubbish.

actually on tv he was asked if the pats image is tarnished and BB is tarnished etc he said no and said he is still the best coach and all those SB victories are theirs

I just posted there slamming him with quotes and links from his old article. What a piece of crap that guy is. What planet is he from anyhow? Looks like they never finished cloning him or something.

Like so many of these self-important idiots, when BB doesn't return his calls the grudge begins. They're all crawling out of the sewer now.

So basically, the penalty isn't harsh enough because
- he's such a great GM that he's going to have way more talent than other teams anyway
- it only deprives him of that lame ability to film again which won't matter because he is such a great coach and will win anyway
- the team is so strong and well coached that he might well go to the SB and probably win it

-and that just isn't harsh enough to offset that huge competitive advantage they had, because it was so huge that it brought into question whether the Pats were ever good enough in terms of having the depth of players and coaching to deserve to win?

Nice little circle of illogical-ness there.

Why am I not surprised that another four letter network hack wants more harm to come to the Patriots?

The statement to take offense to, is this...

John Dovchebag Clayton said:
They have a tough schedule, and it will be hard for them to win more than 11 games with the quality of opponent they'll face.

11 wins? So he thinks we'll do worse than last season despite all of our offseason additions? Did he conveniently miss the thrashing of the Jets? :bricks:

Salisbury and Clayton argued about cameragate last night on Espn re this,Salisbury ridiculed him on his take,it was good.Clayton sure is weird looking ,kinda creepy......

Forget about it. I won't even read anything with Clayton's name on it. He's the Sean Hannity of football reporting.
